ENS or Early Neurological Stimulation

The U.S. Military in their canine program developed a method that still serves as a guide to what works. In an effort to improve the performance of dogs used for military purposes, a program called "Bio Sensor" was developed. Later, it became known to the public as the "Super Dog" Program. Based on years of research, the military learned that early neurologic

al stimulation exercises could have important and lasting effects. Their studies confirmed that there are specific time periods early in life when neurological stimulation has optimum results. The first period involves a window of time that begins at the third day of life and lasts until the sixteenth day. It is believed that because this interval of time is a period of rapid neurological growth and development, and therefore is of great importance to the individual. The "Bio Sensor" program was also concerned with early neurological stimulation in order to give the dog a superior advantage. Its development utilized six exercises which were designed to stimulate the neurological system. Each workout involved handling puppies once each day. The workouts required handling them one at a time while performing a series of five exercises. Listed in order of preference, the handler starts with one pup and stimulates it using each of the five exercises. The handler completes the series from beginning to end before starting with the next pup. The handling of each pup once per day involves the following exercises:

Tactical stimulation (between toes)
Head held erect
Head pointed down
Supine position
Thermal stimulation
Tactile stimulation

Tactile stimulation - holding the pup in one hand, the handler gently stimulates (tickles) the pup between the toes on any one foot using a Q-tip. It is not necessary to see that the pup is feeling the tickle. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds. (Figure 1)
Head held erect - using both hands, the pup is held perpendicular to the ground, (straight up), so that its head is directly above its tail. This is an upwards position. (Figure 2)
Head pointed down - holding the pup firmly with both hands the head is reversed and is pointed downward so that it is pointing towards the ground. (Figure 3)
Supine position - hold the pup so that its back is resting in the palm of both hands with its muzzle facing the ceiling. The pup while on its back is allowed to sleep. Time of stimulation 3-5 seconds. (Figure 4)
Thermal stimulation—use a damp towel that has been cooled in a refrigerator for at least five minutes. Place the pup on the towel, feet down. Do not restrain it from moving. (Figure 5)
These five exercises will produce neurological stimulations, none of which naturally occur during this early period of life. Experience shows that sometimes pups will resist these exercises, others will appear unconcerned. In either case a caution is offered to those who plan to use them. Do not repeat them more than once per day and do not extend the time beyond that recommended for each exercise. Over stimulation of the neurological system can have adverse and detrimental results. These exercises impact the neurological system by kicking it into action earlier than would be normally expected, the result being an increased capacity that later will help to make the difference in its performance. Those who play with their pups and routinely handle them should continue to do so because the neurological exercises are not substitutions for routine handling, play socialization or bonding. Benefits of Stimulation

Five benefits have been observed in canines that were exposed to the Bio Sensor stimulation exercises. The benefits noted were:

Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate)
Stronger heart beats
Stronger adrenal glands
More tolerance to stress
Greater resistance to disease
In tests of learning, stimulated pups were found to be more active and were more exploratory than their non- stimulated littermates over which they were dominant in competitive situations. Secondary effects were also noted regarding test performance. In simple problem solving tests using detours in a maze, the non-stimulated pups became extremely aroused, whined a great deal, and made many errors. Their stimulated littermates were less disturbed or upset by test conditions and when comparisons were made, the stimulated littermates were more calm in the test environment, made fewer errors and gave only an occasional distress sound when stressed.

These two adorable Doods are our last two remaining from Lainey and Teddys Mini Goldendoodle Litter..

All their Littermates left for their homes yesterday and now they are hoping to find their homes before Christmas 🎄

Boone is the biggest from the litter we estimate him to be 35-40 lbs (maybe a little bigger) Hes playful and sweet!

Banner is estimated to be about 30lbs or so
Banner had a bit more energy than Boone. He loves to play and loves toys.

✨ Congratulations to all of our new Superior Doodles families on Gotcha Day! ✨

Today was such a full, beautiful day of puppy snuggles, happy tears, and sending our sweet babies off to their forever homes. 🐶💛

‼️( we still have two baby boys available 🖤🩶)

🩷 This morning we welcomed Libby’s amazing family into our home. She’ll be heading off to Avon, Ohio, where she’ll join her loving family (and two other lucky doggies!)

After that, we hit the road and made our way to Columbus International Airport to meet the rest of the families flying in and driving in for their new additions. ✈️🐾

🤍 Indie was the first to leave at the airport. I got to meet her wonderful Pawrents who drove in and now she’s off to St. Clair, Michigan, where she’ll have a sweet Lab sibling waiting for her.

🩵 Glory was next… she’ll be staying right here in Ohio, joining a precious family with two little girls and a husky who are already so in love.

💙 Lincoln followed shortly after… heading all the way to South Dakota with Michelle… her third Superior Doodles puppy she has flown in to adopt! Truly the highest compliment.

🤎 And finally… Patriot met his brand-new family. He’s off to Waterford, Michigan, to join two awesome little boys who instantly fell in love with him. (Forgot to snap a picture but if they send me one and is okay sharing it, I will add it to this post )

My heart is full! Thank you to every family who opened their homes, and their hearts to one of our babies.

Wishing each of you a lifetime of love, tail wags, and muddy pawprints. 🤍🐾

🚨PUPDATE 🚨

We had a family reserve one of our sweet boys, and during his final vet check the doctor noted that his bottom puppy teeth haven’t fully erupted yet. This is completely normal! many puppies take 8–12 weeks for those little teeth to come in.

Because I believe in being fully transparent, I shared that update with the family. After thinking it over, they decided they weren’t completely comfortable moving forward.

So this precious boy is now available again through absolutely no fault of his own.

I only want to place puppies in homes where the new family feels 100% confident and excited, so I fully respect their decision.

If you’ve been waiting for a well-mannered, snuggly, playful pup… he just might be your match. 💛

❤️ Boone is our biggest baby in this litter. Hes a gentle big boy 🥰 We expect him to be 35-40lbs (possibly a few lbs bigger)

Message the page for details.

See comments for Boone’s veterinarian paperwork, which clearly states that his bottom teeth are coming through the gums.

Vet visit = a big success!
All the babies passed with flying colors today! ✨🐾

Little Boone just needs a bit more time for those bottom teeth to finish coming in…

he’s still a tiny bit gummy, but they are poking through, so the vet expects him to be perfectly fine. (See comments for the video of the vet explaining it!) 🦷💛

Everyone was SO well-behaved and absolute troopers for their shots. Proud puppy mama moment.

And the best news… NO parasites! 🙌🏼
Because ew, nobody has time for that. 🤢😂

Thanks Feeder Creek Veterinary Hospital for another awesome visit ❤️
