Meet Shaker!

He looks pretty rough, but we will get him back 100%

I will be over seeing Shakers rehab!

Shaker is a GOOD BOY! He is 17 hands tall, and has been a very big blessing for many people in his past! Unfortunately his last owner has stopped riding and this winter he stood unused, and has started to lose weight and muscle.

We’d like to take Shaker for his yearly check up, teeth, de worming, and have a lameness done!

I URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP (Please!)

This Sweet Boy, needs our help! He also needs a name!

He came into the KILL PEN, to be shipped to slaughter because he was diagnosed with Equine Protozoa Myeloencephalitis, known as “EPM”. This is a very treatable (non transferable / non contagious) Equine Disease caused by Opossums! Horses contract E P M by coming in contact and ingesting infected Opossum P**p! (Opossums are notorious for getting into HAY BARNS and they p**p in the hay, that later is given to horses!)

This gelding needs E P M medications, the Liquid Suspension for 30 days is $375.00 followed by 30 days of Ponozoril feed through, is $375.00. We also need to raise $750 in upkeep cost (this is for 60 days of upkeep while being treated).

The Kill Pen is not going to offer this horse treatment, their only offer is to ship him so that he doesn’t get worse and eventually hurt himself or someone else because E P M causes neurological problems. However he is at a stage that he has visible signs of E P M, but he is still at a stage we believe he is treatable and we can start rehab to get him back where he’d be a wonderful trail horse again, for someone to enjoy for many years!

Thomas has been roped off of, he was used in a feed lot and a sale barn. He has been used outside to Doctor wheat cattle in the winter. He’s a sound horse, he has a great handle. He just needs a home 🩷

This is LeRoy. He’s upwards of 25. He was sold through a CATALOG Auction as 18, and was said to be an AQHA Champion, with reining points.

We’ve been trying to help ID him, and a DNA Marker is being sent from UC Davis to AQHA.

But, in these photos he’d been with Novelty Equine for 4-5 days. He’s gained a tremendous amount of weight and began to fill in.

We want to take time to remind you, to have your horses teeth checked every year. Horses quarantined with Novelty Equine go to Outlaw Equine upon intake to have their needs addressed and almost ALWAYS we find their teeth need to be floated
