Join Us as a Student Intern: Discover Restorative Groundwork & Functional Riding at Barbier Farm
Barbier Farm is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and passionate student intern to become an integral part of our team for a minimum 6-month placement. If you are looking to deepen your horsemanship and immerse yourself in a truly unique, sustainable approach to horse development and classical riding, this opportunity is for you.
This internship focuses directly on our signature educational offerings: restorative groundwork and building overall functional movement in the riding horse. Please note, this position focuses on education in advanced horsemanship and conditioning—there is no stall cleaning required.
What You Will Focus On:
• Restorative Groundwork: Mastering the techniques that develop a horse's posture, relaxation, strength, and mental focus from the ground.
• Function-Building Riding: Learning how to refine riding to improve the horse's overall longevity and athletic function.
• Team Collaboration: Working closely with our team to maintain high standards of horse care and daily operations.
Who We Are Looking For:
• A highly responsible, reliable individual who wants to be a true, trusted team member in our daily program.
• A motivated student or aspiring professional eager to absorb a refined, specialized methodology (6-month minimum commitment required).
• Candidates must be physically capable of meeting the demands of daily horse handling, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for long periods of time.
What We Provide:
• On-site housing.
• A small monthly stipend.
• Invaluable, hands-on education in specialized groundwork and functional riding.
