🔥🩵BE AMAZED AND DAZED - ITS BLAZE🩵🔥

We got in a couple new kids at HSHP!

First up is the spunky monkey named Blaze!

Blaze is a 4 year old purebred Boxer! He has not been neutered yet, but we are going to work on getting that done soon!

Blaze has got A LOT to say to you when you first meet him. His excitement filled bark may sound intimidating but he’s just telling you all about the birds, cars, and squirrels he saw.

Blaze’s family was absolutely gutted to have to rehome him and his sister, Mia. It was not a choice they made lightly and we will ensure they go to the best homes!

We are still getting to know Blaze ourselves, but he will thrive in a home that has experience with the boxer breed! While he lived with his sister Mia, Blaze can be unsure about new dogs and has not met any cats.
With how excited he can be, small children are not the best choice.
Blaze is a total ladies man and warms up to women much faster than men, but he did live with a man and adored him!

Blaze is very loyal to the people he loves and will not hesitate to protect them!

He is house trained and knows basic commands!
He also has been to doggy boarding before and does great!
Blaze just needs a to get to know you for like a quick second and then he’s all about the typical boxer behaviors like throwing his body on you and sliding around. His little tail goes a million miles per hour. I’ve been wanting to do something with a fast tail like that and Blaze is the PERFECT wiggle butt for me to try it with so stayed tuned!

We know this boy is stunning and we haven’t had many pure bred Boxers walk through our door, but we are still going to be picky about what home he goes too!

HELP GIANNI AND OLIVIA!

Two of our sweet little regulars have decided to put on a wonderful project that will benefit the dogs at HSHP. Gianni and Olivia come out often and always provide the sweetest love and attention to our animals.
They are asking for Donations of $10, $20, or more to be able to go out and purchase items that will become Dog Care Packages that will be handed out to dogs that are spending their orphanly days waiting for a new forever home.
Your donation will fill a bag with a blanket, a toy, treats, and of course a special visit from Gianni and Olivia themselves!

We are so proud of these two young girls taking the time to work on such a wonderful project! We would love to see them be supported as this a great thing these two young girls are doing for a non-profit in their community!

❤️‍🔥🧡JAY BABY’S FIRST TIME ON A WALK🧡❤️‍🔥

Our sweet and shy little boxer mix, Jay, has been really coming out of his shell around the people he is comfortable with!

To recap, Jay was born in a litter of puppies that never were rehomed. They grew up in a smaller home and rarely got to go outside. Food must of been a little scarce as he clearly sustained his hunger by eating p**p. He also is wired to think going potty in p**p inside is what he is supposed to do.. We are working our best to show him he does not need to eat any p**p and he has plenty of food now and forever.
Unfortunately, it is very hard for us to work on housebreaking a dog in a shelter environment. However, I will say when I took him to my house he did eventually use the bathroom in my back yard. So he is absolutely trainable! He is very responsive to praises and with some “yays” “good boys” and clapping, he will love to go outside for you! He just needs a home with a stable routine.

I decided to take it up a notch and go on a little public walk with him. And let me just say, he far exceeded my expectations!

Jay loads up in my car and rides absolutely wonderful! He loves to rest his head on my arm while looking out the window.
We decided to go to the Hospital Walking trail where there is bound to be a few people walking but not overwhelming.
I was worried he would freeze and not want to walk or flail on the leash wanting to bolt. He did none of that. He calmly walked right by my side the entire time.

We were joined by Mariah and her daughter, Athena as well! Athena was on her skates and this also was a good time to see how not only how he reacted to children but also how a child rolling around on some wheels did. Jay didn’t mind them that much if at all!

He still gets a little unsure with new hands petting him, but all he does is back away. He has never nipped or growled at anyone during anything!

Ultimately Jay just needs someone he feels safe with. Once he knows you are a safe person and you are providing him with a safe place, he is a normal dog.
We are still slowly working up to introducing him to other dogs and cats, but we’re just taking it slow.

This poor boy has never been shown true love and attention. Once he feels that, he will be the best comfort dog ever!

🚗💨 Meet Chevelle! 💨🚗

This 8-week-old male kitten is ready to cruise into his forever home! Named after the classic muscle car, Chevelle has a motor-like purr, plenty of horsepower, and a playful personality that keeps him on the move.

Found as a stray after what may have been a roadside adventure, this sweet little guy has quickly become one of our favorite co-pilots. He’s litterbox trained, has received his first round of vaccinations, and is ready to hit the road to his next destination—a loving family!

🍎💚Appletater takes on Hays!❤️🍏

On Sunday, I took Mr. Apple out on the town!
This boy did absolutely wonderful!
He stuck by my side the entire time and only slightly pulled when he saw some pretty doodles across the street, but listened well when I said let’s keep moving.

He absolutely loves to window shop and was super intrigued by the summer dresses in the window. I think he got a little mad when I said I wasn’t going to buy him a dress… The shop was closed buddy.. 😂😂

He happily greeted pedestrians and shop keepers opening up. We even had a couple bikers roll right by us and Apple didn’t do a darn thing!

Appletater, like most bully’s, doesn’t do well in the heat for too long and we kept our walk super short. He also will need to have sun protection of some sort over his face as he burns very easy!!

This handsome ham is one of the best boys you’re ever going to find!

Just like a kaleidoscope, this little girl is full of color, chaos, and beautiful surprises at every turn! Kaleidoscope is a 8 week-old kitten with a stunning diluted gray-and-orange coat and the sweetest little splash of orange on her face — a pattern so unique, her name practically picked itself. 🧡🩶

This fun-loving little lady came to us as a stray and was sadly never claimed, but she certainly hasn’t let that dim her sparkle. Kaleidoscope is sweet, snuggly, and doesn’t know a stranger… but make no mistake — calm and steady is NOT her cup of tea. 🌪️🐾

This spunky girl is a total go-getter who believes life is meant to be explored (and occasionally climbed, bothered, knocked over, or investigated 😅). Whether she’s pestering other kittens, finding mischief, or getting into something she definitely shouldn’t, Kaleidoscope keeps life exciting! Once playtime winds down, she’s happy to cash in on all the snuggles she can get. ✨

Because this colorful little whirlwind loves action, she would likely thrive with a kitty friend or playful companion to match her energy and keep up with her adventures. 🐈💕

Meet Milan, Zahra, Paris & Seoul — four adventurous little ladies ready to stamp their passports into forever homes! These sweet girls came to us as strays and may be a little shy at first, but they’re becoming used to being handled and are ready for love, playtime, and kitten adventures.

🐱 Milan – Orange female who is courageous, fearless, playful & curious explorer
🐱 Zahra (ADOPTED) – black and white tiny boss lady with sass
🐱 Paris – our orange and white female who is shy sweetheart turned snuggler
🐱 Seoul – solid black female who curious and quiet mischievous little troublemaker

No holds — all adoptions are first come, first served!

Our toy bin is looking very sad..
So we got our babies some new toys! They LOVE THEM!
New toys keep things fresh and interesting for our long term residents! That is until they are chewed to death…
