Born at the Piber Federal Stud, the breeding farm that supplies horses to the Spanish Riding School, these foals spend their early years in a nurturing environment, roaming freely and developing strength and agility. At around four years old, selected young stallions are brought to Vienna for rigorous training. Their education consists of classical dressage, a discipline requiring years of patience, dedication, and mutual trust between horse and rider. This demanding preparation ensures that only the best horses go on to perform the intricate movements of the famed Airs Above the Ground.

A Tradition Preserved
The breeding and training of Lipizzaners is a carefully preserved tradition dating back over 450 years.
