I'm being thankful this afternoon for today's photo -- this is Cloud Nine who recently went to her retirement home. Her new name is Millie -- she's now a true Texan -- and her parents say she is the sweetest, most playful girl ever. I so very much appreciate her new parents and their perfect home for her.

A super birthday in the country will be celebrated tomorrow by Jancy Coward and her family. Jancy will be four years old and has much to celebrate. Of course she's always been a bit spoiled as she has a Mom who dotes on her. I believe each weekend (and maybe more often) she gets to go to her country home and how she loves every minute of it. Jancy, you are such a pretty girl and I hope you have ever so many more birthday celebrations.

There's a gaping hole in Arizona as Sir Bailey Pralle passed unexpectedly. Bailey had eyes that could hold an adult conversation and he was admired and loved by all he met. Privileged? Yes, definitely so of course Mom was with him holding his paw and talking to him as he left this life and found a great spot in which to wait on her. He was from Sir Teddy lineage and would have been 11 years old in a couple of weeks. All our thoughts are with his Mom as it's a difficult road.

A big birthday has just taken place in Florida. I'm sure all of you have enjoyed seeing photos of Amos Moses and now Mom sends a photo saying he has just turned four years of age. That's a great time of life and this boy will be living it to the fullest (as Mom sees to it that he has it all). Happy, Happy 4th, Amos ...... and we look forward to many more.

I have been saying it would be Fall before there are available puppies but there was a small surprise litter and there is one female puppy ready for action. She's a granddaughter of Sir Teddy and both parents are OFA Good Hips and Normal Elbows. If interested please send an email to [email protected] ......... and I'll be happy to tell you everything I know about her. She and I both think she's pretty cute.

It surely seems we are having to say too many good-byes right now. Folks, this is Jazz Guilbert way down in Florida. She has been around a long time (14 years and 4 months). And, she is another labbie with all the perks coming her way. What a great life with the
Guilbert family. She arrived there with big shoes to fill. Her parents had just lost a yellow girl and it was decided that they would change colors and love another one. Well, that certainly happened and Jazzy gave it her all. A great milestone at over 14 years. I know the hurt runs deep and we can all keep her family in our prayers.

A special guy in Greenville, SC, left this world and his wonderful family yesterday. Brady Phillips was 13 years of age and. His Mom has been with our Labrador site all these years and has shared him with us several times. If I remember correctly I believe he joined his family as a gift from Dad to Mom. It seems she was given a list of some wonderful gifts -- and she chose a yellow lab. When I saw the list I'm sure he was the most inexpensive by far and it made me smile that her choice was Brady. He certainly had a life full of good times and has left wonderful memories.

Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer -- and look at Elsa Sanger (as Dad says Elsa is in charge). They left their Delaware home and have traveled over 3,000 miles this week with stops in Park City, Salt Lake, and Lake Tahoe. She'll now spend a week in Carmel, California lounging on the beach and swimming in the Pacific. She looks very serious about the decisions she makes on this trip and I'm sure she is learning a lot. Safe Travels and Great Memories to her and her family.

"And the Livin' is Easy" -- if you don't believe that, just take a look at Hoot Hill enjoying all Texas has to offer. His calm and happy demeanor tells me this is not his first rodeo. I think he's a spoiled little guy -- but ever so handsome -- and doesn't even realize how fortunate he is.

What Fun -- this is Reid Jaeger spending a fun weekend in NW Arkansas with his lab friend Bing. Mom says Reid is such a water dog and easily retrieves under water. I think he's extra handsome to go along with his talents. I'm sure the two of them made memories they won't forget.

Down in the deep South Maximus is growing up to be a handsome fella. Mom says he's 1-1/2 years now -- reserved around strangers but totally happy with her Son (Sam). She also mentions he's grown to be an amazing part of their family. I think those comments are what we all want our dog to be and it keeps me smiling.
