ISE had a morning of dressage rides at the show today! All four riders walked away with top 3 placings, several blue ribbons and the Junior High Score in Dressage!

Two new rider faces and one new horse face attended and we had a great outing! Looking forward to the next show in two weeks!

Check us out at the SWDEA Spring show on April 11! We will have 7 horses and 8 riders at this one! And don’t worry, they’re not all dressage princesses! We have 2 Combined Test riders and 3 Eventers too! Plus more new faces!!

I didn’t get any photos and we didn’t get the ribbons til this evening as we were done and outta there by 1:00 and some of our classes lasted til 3:30! But I got a short warm up video of McCartney so I got a still from that. 🩷 Plus a picture of my assistant trainer and side kick.

Incredibly rare stall board spot available coming January 2026!!

Stall board includes Seminole grain 2x daily, locally grown grass hay, oversized stall at 13’ x 14’ with mats, lights and enclosed-motor fan, daily turnout for at least 15 hours, blanketing, administering of owner provided supplements, 24hr supervision, trainer on site, four one hour lessons per month and access to amenities.

Amenities include concrete wash rack, climate controlled tack room, full sized sand dressage arena with lights and mirrors, grass jump arena with loads of colorful jumps with filler and shade trees, covered round pen and one of the best barn families around.

Iron Star is a boutique boarding, training and show barn that is home to the FSU Dressage Team and we have members of the FSU Eventing team training here as well. We specialize in dressage and eventing. We are active with the Southwind Dressage and Eventing Association, USDF and USEA. We attend shows and events locally and all over the southeast at venues including WEC, Florida Horse Park, Poplar Place Farm, Jacksonville Equestrian Center, Majestic Oaks and many more!

Injuries never happen at an “opportune moment”. Just weeks before we were supposed to dance down centerline at USDF Region 3 Championships, Charley sustained a soft tissue injury jury in his hoof. We had to sit out Regionals and he went on stall rest. After 30 days of rest, we did not receive the news we had hoped for. Our next step is to continue stall rest and take a trip to Ocala to have an MRI done so we can get answers. Will this be a permanent career ending injury? Does he need 30-90 more days of rest? Can he tolerate more time cooped up in a stall? There are so many variables and no one way to do rehab. Thankfully, Stressless is on hand for the days that are too much for Charley. It will help keep him calm and relaxed while stalled and on hand walks. We can afford shenanigans that could slow the healing process!

Charley is two weeks into his 4 weeks of stall rest. We will evaluate his soundness on October 8 and see if he’s good to tackle walk for 30 days. He’s handling the stalling well but has torn off 3 out of 4 bell boots by playing with them. Guess it’s time to order a jolly ball and new bell boots!

Iron Star Equestrian is forming the first IEA Dressage Team in the state of Florida! Do you have a middle school or high school age rider wanting to join a team sport? Riding Programs in Florida, Alabama and South Georgia! Do you teach dressage? Do you have middle and high school age riders? Want to do a little more for to prep them for a collegiate riding career? Have you looked at IEA?

You don’t need to own or even BRING a horse to the shows! It’s a draw as to what horse you ride. There are levels for every rider! National winners receive college scholarships! Help your riders build their equestrian resume!

I am starting an IEA Dressage Team near Tallahassee and we need more teams!! Please check into IEA or message me for more information!! I’m happy to answer any questions or hook you up with someone who has the answer!
