Hauppauge Farms

Hauppauge Farms From May to November we start with flowers, plants, and hanging baskets. Then farm fresh fruits and vegetables.Cute baby bunnies to buy and pet all year.

It all started 53 years ago with my grandparents August and Frances Hoeffner. They put a small table and umbrella in front of their house and the farmstand was born. At first they just sold corn and tomatoes form that small table but no has grown quiet a bit. After my grandfather passed away and my grandma couldn't do it anymore my Uncle Dan took over. This man is my hero. A rare genetic disease t

ook away the use of his legs at a young age. Yet you will never see a more hard working dedicated, loving and happy person. He never complained, felt sorry for himself or wrongfully burden by it. He was more than happy to crawl around and pick tomatoes and make people happy. Unfortunately he passed away in 2002. My parents Su and Ed Ruckdeschel took over. My mom has been doing this since she was 8. We are open From May 1st to October 31st. Then we close for 2 weeks then reopen for the week of Thanksgiving. From May to July we sell flowers in flats, pots hanging baskets and vegetable plants. Come July we start with local corn tomatoes and all other fruits and vegetables. All year round my Mom raises rabbits so we always have cute baby bunnies for sale. Come October we start with all the fall stuff, mums, pumpkins, straw, cornstalks, and crafts. We used to grow everything but we always rent the land and never owned it. So now we buy from other Long Island Growers all over the island but mostly out east. We believe in quality over quantity.
