Our next Star Wars Trivia Night is happening Friday, August 28th at 5 PM, and we want to see who truly knows the galaxy best!

Grab a team of 2–3 people and join us for an evening of fun, friendly competition, and plenty of cats. Whether you’ve memorized every movie or just love the Star Wars universe, you’ll have a blast!

📚 New Book Arrivals! 📚

We’ve had a TON of books donated recently, and we’ve been busy getting them out on the shelves! There are so many great titles just waiting to be discovered.

Even better… our 50¢ book bin has officially grown into an entire 50¢ bookshelf! 😍 If you love a good bargain, you definitely need to stop by and browse.

👀 And here’s a little sneak peek… keep an eye on our page next week! One day in August, we’ll be hosting a Fill-a-Bag Book Sale! It won’t include every book in the store, but a large selection will be available to fill a bag for one low price.

Our next Bookish Speed Friending Night with Leaf & Letter is happening on Friday, September 11, and we’re so excited!

If you’ve been looking for a fun way to meet new people, this is the perfect opportunity. Whether you come with a friend or come by yourself, you’ll spend the evening talking books, laughing, and making new connections with fellow readers.

This time we’ll also be making friendship bracelets and playing lots of fun games!

Your ticket includes:
📖 A blind date with a book (plus fun goodies!)
🐱 Time in the cat lounge with our adoptable kitties
📚 Speed friending with fellow book lovers
🩷 Friendship bracelet making
🎲 Fun games and activities
🛍️ Shopping with the Leaf & Letter mobile bookstore

Two sessions are available:
🕟 4:30–6:00 PM
🕡 6:30–8:00 PM

Where’s Sassy? 👀

If you’ve visited Cattiesburg Cafe over the last couple of months, you’ve probably met our famous basket queen. Sassy could usually be found lounging in her basket, supervising everyone who walked by, and making sure she was the center of attention.

Well… Sassy has officially decided that the cat lounge life just isn’t for her.

As much as she loves people, having so many cats and new faces around all day was simply too overwhelming. The stress started bringing out behaviors that just aren’t who she really is, so we moved her to our foster room where she’s much happier and more relaxed.

Now here’s the real Sassy…

💜 Around 1 year old
💜 Greets everyone she meets
💜 Loves people more than just about anything
💜 Wants to be held—and if you don’t pick her up, she’ll happily launch herself onto you until you do. 😂
💜 Loves pets
💜 Loves food
💜 Loves snacks
💜 Has plenty to say and will happily carry on a conversation with you.

Sassy does have a habit of playing with hands when she’s excited, but she’s easily redirected to a wand toy or another toy. She’d also do best as an only cat or with one calm, easygoing feline sibling where she doesn’t have to compete for attention.

We know there’s someone out there looking for a cat that’s completely devoted to her people, because that’s exactly who Sassy is. She loves her humans with her whole heart.

She isn’t in the cat lounge anymore, but she’s still here! Just ask one of our staff members to meet Sassy in our foster room. We would absolutely love to see this sweet girl find a home where she can finally relax and be someone’s spoiled little princess. ❤️

If kindness had four paws, it would look a lot like Belle. 🤍

Belle is the definition of gentle. She’s humble, sweet, and so happy just to be loved. Watching her quietly soak up affection is enough to melt anyone’s heart.

Once she feels safe and comes out of her shell, though… don’t let that sweet face fool you! She has a fun, goofy, playful side that loves to come out. She’s the perfect mix of calm cuddle bug and silly puppy.

At just 5 months old and around 15 pounds (expected to be 20–25 pounds full grown), Belle is ready to find the family that will help her continue to blossom.

She deserves a home where she can be loved for the gentle soul she is—and encouraged to let her silly side shine. 🩷
