Meet Huxley!

Huxley is a 7 month old Boxer mix. He’s up to date on all vaccines (including rabies), microchipped with a lifetime-paid registration, and will be neutered through the rescue at a later date. He’s doing great on housebreaking.

Meet Berkley!

Berkley is a 7 month old Boxer mix. He’s up to date on all vaccines (including rabies), microchipped with a lifetime-paid registration, and will be neutered through the rescue at a later date. He’s doing well with potty training.

Berkley is as gentle, quiet, laidback type of pupp. He enjoys playing in the yard but also cherishes quiet moments away from the other pupps. Likes to be with his ppl or person. With his tan coat, and four white paws—he’s as adorable on the outside as he is sweet on the inside. Bright Starz Neu-Life Animal Rescue has been selected again for the COMMUNITY BAG PROGRAM AT STOP AND SHOP for the month of July. Bright Starz will get $1.00 for every bag that is purchased. Only at Stop and Shop on Union Ave in Haskell. Please stop in and shop and purchase a bag and help support our rescue and help our pupps find their furever homes.

Hello Bright Starz Neu-Life family and friends,

I’m writing to give you an honest update. After 8 years of rescuing and rehoming dogs, I’m now facing one of the hardest moments since starting this rescue. I only have $200 left in our account and just one bag of food remaining. I currently have six dogs in my care, which include five puppies still waiting for homes.

One of the dogs, Rhea, a 3-year-old female, has tested heartworm positive. It appears to be advanced, and I’m expecting treatment costs to be around $2,000. On top of that, I’m still trying to pay down a $11,000 vet bill. I’ve received some generous help already, but we still have a long way to go.

Here’s how you can help:

• Donate via Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, or by check. Please contact me directly for those details.

• If you'd like to help pay down the vet bill, reach out and I’ll explain how.

• Purchase supplies through our Amazon and Chewy wishlists.

• Fundraising: If you have a fundraiser idea, please feel free to take the lead on it. If you need our EIN or rescue info, I’ll gladly provide that. But I can’t take on any more projects myself. I truly need others to carry them through, not hand it back to me to halfway to finish.

I’m not asking anyone to do anything unless they truly want to. I’m just being honest about what’s going on. Encouragement and positivity go a long way right now. Negative or discouraging comments (like “shut the rescue down) will be deleted and blocked. That type of energy helps no one, and especially not the dogs. I’m not a quitter. I’m not giving up on these dogs or this mission. Bright Starz Neu-Life Animal Rescue has saved many dogs over the past 7 years. We’re now in our 8th year, and I know there are more lives to save.
