Another weekend, another horse show.. or two!

Saturday brought us to Apple Knoll Farm where Kendall and Dobby rocked their first rated event together. After a pretty solid dressage including someone kicking his heels up, they had a rhythmic show jump and a solid XC finishing them in 4th. This duo has been fun to watch grow their partnership.

To finish the weekend, we went to Valinor Schooling Dressage where Lizzie brought Stoli to their first go at 1-1. After an amazing, focused warm up, energy and concentration fizzled out after a little bit of wait time resulting in a tired pony with a couple of bobbles. Easy fixes and we are so proud getting off property is becoming so simple for him.

Kali rode Alfie through two new tests as a trial which proved easy for these two. They had Great parts to the test with some new challenges and refining pieces to come along in some of their foundation work.

And perfect weather to boot! ☀️

Lisa and CC lucked out with showing on Friday and Sunday at NEDA Spring, avoiding most of the bad weather all together, but we still felt terrible for our fellow competitors who endured the crazy wind and rain on Saturday.

Lisa and CC spent the weekend figuring out how to improve their preparation and put all of the hard pieces together in the show ring. They were able to manage a 2nd place on Friday in 4-3 with a 60.8% and some bobbles, but a tougher test today after a long warm-up in the rain, resulting in a tired pony who tried too hard 😊

So back home to work on how to help this pair as they work their way up!

We travel regularly to schooling/rated dressage and eventing shows as well as squeezing in open and breed shows as requested.

Farm Amenities include indoor arena, 2 outdoor arenas, 10-12 hour turnout, 3-4 grain meals per day, 6-7 hay meals, heated tack room/bathroom, manager on site, rehab equipment availability, and etc.

The weather couldn’t have been better at Course Brook Farm for the 1st schooling trials of the season for team Westgate!

Kendall and Dobby are becoming a great team after only nine months together! With a move up to Beginner Novice, dressage was solid with beautiful moments, he ate up the XC course even seeing new questions, and found his rhythm in stadium minus one rail that must’ve found a wind gust somewhere that placed them in 3rd 😍

Kali and Alfie moved to Novice last season but struggled to keep confidence after a tough slip in stadium. Well it’s safe to say they’ve got their groove back. Dressage found their lowest score ever together at a 34 ( we all wished they’d love the sandbox more), they were more eager than ever for stadium with one rail and both found their usual happy place on cross country ensuring their brakes still work 🤣 placing them 4th
