Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Lavonia, GA has some really great dogs available for adoption or rescue!

To celebrate "Clear the Shleters" month, adoption fees at the shelter are reduced. The dog adoption fee is only $45!

We would love to rescue more shelter pets and with more foster homes we could! Submit a foster application at harthumane.org to be connected with our team.

You helped cats like Nelson, who was diagnosed with FIP last year—and thanks to your support, is now in remission as of December! (Our Christmas miracle!) And then there’s Sprout, who we've posted about recently - She is thriving beyond belief, and we are more than amazed at her progress!These are not just stories— they’re lives made possible because of you.

Smokey needs a new home! Can you help?

His mom recently moved into an assisted living facility and he couldn't stay with her. He's a lovable 10 year old, 20lb cat searching for a quiet and calm home to match his personality! He isn't used to be around other animals and stays indoors. He is already neutered and comes with his foor/supplies from home.

He's safe with a community member, but hes searching for his permanent spot. Reach out if you think that may be with you! ❤️🐾

Thank you to everyone who visited during our Second Saturday Adoption Event this afternoon!

Adoptions are what we live for! Placing these amazing pups with their forever families and seeing those wagging tails.

Hart County Humane Society has some great cats and kittens currently waiting for their forever homes at the PetSmart in Anderson, SC!

Thanks to Comfort for Critters and PetSmart Charities, these adoptables can transition to their indoor-only homes a little easier!

All of our adoptable feline friends are microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and spayed or neutered!

We have many other wonderful cats and kittens available at the Hart County Humane Society located at 1364 Reed Creek HWY, Hartwell, GA 30643. The Cat Sanctuary is open from 10am-1pm daily or by appointment!

It's Thursday, time for This Week - Hart County and Beyond. Tune into the show at 6pm to learn about the events in our community.

Tonight our big, loveable Bear will join Doc on the show. Bear is just over a year old, and a rescue from Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter. He came to us quite sick, but the wonderful team at Lake Hartwell Veterinary Clinic stepped up to help him. He is now healthy and happy and looking for his forever home.

Come by Hart County Humane Society on Saturday from 11-3 and meet this handsome, gentle guy during our Second Saturday Event.

🌱 Sprout Update! 🌱

We’re thrilled to share that little Sprout is thriving! 💪💚

She’s eating like a champ, finally flea-free, and her blood levels are steadily improving after battling severe anemia. Her condition was caused by a heavy flea infestation, but thanks to quick intervention and supportive care, she’s on the mend and showing us just how strong she is.

From a fragile little baby to a bright and blooming survivor — this girl is full of fight and love. Thank you to everyone who sent prayers, shared her story, and supported her recovery. 💕

Stay tuned as she continues to grow and blossom. 🌸
