Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary

Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary We are a 1,000 acre animal sanctuary in Wyoming - Giving Former Research Animals A Future. Contact us today to find out how you can get involved!
(2501)

All of the animals at Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary have previously been used in, or were destined to be used in, laboratory research. We have a small but hardworking staff, all of who live on site to provide the animals with the best possible hands-on care. Some of our experienced staff members live with the dogs and work daily on socialization, crate-training, housebreaking, leash-walking, and

basic commands. The cats receive an abundance of play time, trees for climbing, an outdoor space for exploring, and socialization with other cats and visitors. Our horses and other farm animals also receive daily care and socialization. The horses and cows are free to roam most of our 1,000 acres, and the sheep and pigs have access to open grazing land, as well. These animals are visitor favorites and will likely live out their lives at Kindness Ranch. We also provide an adoption program for our cats, dogs, horses, potbelly pigs and occasional small mammals. Those who are too debilitated, old, or ill to be placed in a loving home can remain on the ranch to live out their days, surrounded by caretakers and volunteers who put the animals’ well-being first. We offer unique guest accommodations right on the property for those interested in volunteering, adopting, or otherwise supporting our mission. Our fully-furnished rental cabins are available year-round at competitive rates and deliver a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors of all ages! We are always looking for supporters interested in adopting, fostering, or volunteering.

We can’t get over how adorable these photos are of Siena Belle! A former research beagle who was adopted from Kindness Ranch and just celebrated her 5-year “Gotcha” anniversary this week!

Her adopters shared these sweet snapshots, and seeing Siena Belle thriving in her loving home fills our hearts with so much joy. Moments like these are exactly why we do what we do. As a reminder, you can view all of our adoptable animals on our website (www.kindnessranch.org) and apply to learn more. Your future best friend might be waiting!

Make sure to share your adoption photos in our "Kindness Ranch Adopter and Foster Support" page!

You have probably seen pictures here and there of some of our cutest pig residents, but we wanted to share a few more with you to brighten your Tuesday! Meet Moose, Thor, Arthur, Alice, and Jinx. Here is a recent update our Executive Director shared about these adorable piggies:

“During their first afternoon at Kindness Ranch, they spent their time outside, noses down, discovering the ground together. Three of them stayed close, eating side by side, making the softest little snorts and munching sounds. Those tiny noises carried across the sanctuary and somehow filled every corner with warmth. It felt like joy made audible.

We are deeply grateful for these five lives. Each one is curious, gentle, and already full of personality. Watching them explore, you can see how quickly they’re learning that this is a safe place—a place where food is plentiful, the sun is warm (well, today it was), and nothing is being asked of them except to be pigs.

We received the pigs from a research facility when their time in research was complete. Now their days are their own. They get to root, nap, eat, and grow at their own pace, surrounded by care and kindness.

Moments like this remind us why this work matters. It’s about witnessing the quiet magic that happens when animals are finally allowed to relax into life. Five little pigs did that today, and our hearts are fuller because of it.

Thank you for being part of a community that makes moments like this possible. We can’t wait to share more of their journey with you.”

If you would like to make a donation to Kindness Ranch please do so at www.kindnessranch.org. Thank you!

Our newest feline Kindness Ranch family members are settling in beautifully in their cozy cat yurt—and our hearts couldn’t be happier watching them finally enjoy peace, room to roam, toys, and all the love they deserve. 🐾💛 Each of these kitties came to us from a life previously spent in laboratory research.

Now they’re just waiting for their forever families to come find them! You can learn more about each of our adoptable cats on our website in the Adopt section (www.kindnessranch.org).

We can’t wait to welcome those of you ready to bring one home out here to the Ranch in Hartville, Wyoming for their adoption. Until then, these sweet kitties will be soaking up all the spoils, endless sunsets, and love here at Kindness.

Winter sunsets at Kindness Ranch are truly something special. There’s nothing quite like winding down outside a yurt, watching the sky change colors after a fulfilling day spent visiting and volunteering with our animals.

Our animals call 1,000 acres of peaceful open space home at our Ranch - located in Hartville, Wyoming - just 3.5 hours north of Denver and 1.5 hours from the Scottsbluff airport. Last week, we shared that 100+ mph winds tore down one of our incredibly important barns. Today, we’re so happy to share that thanks to your generosity, we not only met but surpassed our $9,000 fundraising goal to rebuild this precious space so many of our animals call home. Your kindness continues to fill our hearts with gratitude and hope for the future. Rebuilding is already underway - thank you, truly, from all of us.
