One more down… one more to go. We are done with the hunt test trail for 2026 but I couldn’t be happier with how Oakley ended the year on her final run. I am seeing her transform into the big dog I knew was locked inside her for 3 years and I can’t wait to see what 2027 holds for her. Thank you to all of my friends, family and fellow trainers who have worked with us, helped us and supported us this year. Great dogs are built and it takes a lot of time, patience and effort and it’s a fact none of us know everything. Surrounding yourself with knowledge and support is just as important as having knowledge and confidence for yourself. Let’s go hunting!

2026! This breeding will be occurring very soon! This should be an excellent breeding for anyone looking at a Field Golden. They should do well in any setting they are put in. Both dogs are very competitive and have great off switches. Give me a shout if you are interested in finding out more about the upcoming puppy litter!

HRCH Ponderosa Ranch Tallulah MH WCX earned her first International Grand pass at the fall grand in St Louis. Tula is the purest definition of a field Golden. Hard working, loving, competitive, tough, sweet with an excellent off switch. She loves to train but also loves a good belly rub. Pictured is myself and Tula along with her owner Noah Cartwright after the upland 5th series. Thank you to Noah and Emma Cartwright for trusting me with her and allowing me to train Tula. Champion level dogs aren’t just born. They are built. It takes great breeders, owners and training to find success at the highest championship levels. Let’s go get one more next year!

HRCH White Birches Sure Shot Annie SH WCX call name “Oakley” running a mark in her 2nd grand appearance. She didn’t make past the 1st series but with more work and training we will be back next year for another rematch with the HRC International Grand.

Tula grabbed her first Grand pass yesterday at the fall HRC International Grand Hunting Retriever Test in St. Charles, MO. When Zeus went down this fall to injury I thought I lost my chance to finally get through the Grand but I’m so thankful God had different plans. In the last two weeks this girl stepped up her game in every way imaginable and Tula proved to me she was ready to go chase the Grand on her own. She is one of the finest animals I’ve ever worked with. Her owners are excellent friends and the most supportive team always there to encourage and cheer us on. I have been blessed beyond anything I deserve to be able to train and campaign Tula along with so many other animals that have been in and/or currently in my kennel. It’s tough when you realize you love other people’s dogs as much as you would if they were yours and that one day they will go home and not come back. Until that day comes with Tula the grumpy bear…. I hope we get many more chances to play this game and chase ribbons or titles together but no matter what I will never forget this run she gave me and the experience we just had and how much we have learned together.

Zeus and Tula both picked up another master pass towards qualifying for the 27’ Master National this weekend and are sitting on 4 of the 6 they need. Proud doesn’t describe how I feel about these two Golden Retrievers.
