Hello, the ladies at the Kennel call me Bella and little peanut. (They said I was the smallest pitty they’ve ever seen.)
The kennel is nice and warm. I have a comfy bed and yummy food, treats and toys and a couple friends but I am sad.
Yesterday I was found in the middle of nowhere. No houses, just woods. I was so scared. I looked and looked for my humans but couldn’t find them and I started to cry. I was cold and scared and all alone. Why did they leave me?
What did I do wrong? I am a good girl. I love everyone I meet. I even love to play dress up with the crazy ladies at the Kennel . But it’s not home.
I heard the ladies say “ someone must have loved her, she has been spayed and has an expensive collar”. But if they loved me why haven’t they called? Why haven’t they come pick me up and hug me and say they missed me. Why?
If you know my humans please call the Hartland Animal Control Officer. @ 860-978-1876 and help get me and the Animal Control Officer answers to my questions please.
Love,
Bella

Barkhamsted folks (Eddy Road) and surrounding areas.....
This afternoon at approximately 4:15, a minor granddaughter of a resident of Eddy Road witnessed her dog be struck and killed by a car. According to the owner, the dog was NOT in the roadway but was on the corner of her driveway and the road.
The car struck the dog with enough force that there are car parts remaining at the scene. The parts belong to a blue Subaru.
The neighbors are checking their home security cameras in an effort to locate the car driver.
As a reminder, it is illegal to strike a dog with your vehicle and not stop and report. The State statute is C.G.S.-14-226 Failure of operator to comply with requirements following injury or death of dog caused by motor vehicle, infraction fee is $117.00
Like most secondary roads in our area, people tend to speed quite often. We as a people need to slow down. Playing the "what if" game, what if this accident involved a child.... What then?
If you were involved in this accident, please do the right thing. To you it may have been "just a dog", but to the owners, that dog was they're family.
If you have any information to share, please contact the Barkhamsted Resident Troopers office at the Barkhamsted Town Hall, 860-626-1820. Because this is a moving violation, the Trooper will investigate any information provided.
The owner had this to say : "Some inconsiderate idiot just hit and killed my granddaughters dog on Eddy Rd and went barrel assing off and never stopped. They were driving a dark blue SUV.The dog was on the side of the road and not in it. I hope he/she rots in hell. My granddaughter was right there and can't stop shaking. They hit the dog so hard that my daughter has 2 pieces of their fender, i am calling the police. "
The parts of the fender say Subaru on them. Have the decency to own up to what you did.
