just came back on my 4th 1 mile walk with vadar, the 15 month old shepherd. he is listening quite well to commands while on leash. this 120lb shepherd could do as he pleased with me, yet him wanting to fulfill my will rather than his own, he is gonna be a great dog and protector. he loves the river!!! he is up for adoption, if know takers he will live his life out Shepard's Doghouse

Attention Jack Russell Terrier lovers
This is a courtesy post for one of our followers. Teddy Roosevelt is a 3-year-old Rough Coat (long-haired) Jack Russell terrier in need of a new home. He is currently in the care of one of our supporters. He actually belongs to a gentleman who can no longer provide care for him and has gone to assisted living. Welcome 13 month old Re*****on AKA Remi to the doghouse. Remi is a sweetheart of a boy with massive paws and is so gentle and mild mannered. Remi was relinquished today in order to save him from a life of abuse. We would like to thank this owner for doing the right thing for Re*****on. It took real guts to stand against your family member for the sake of this precious dog.
Every time we're full I think God laughs at us and has other plans! Once we have completely assessed him and have further information regarding his adoptability we will keep you posted :-)

Update: This sweet girl really needs a home to call her own. Maya`s adoption also includes free boarding for her entire life at the doghouse! Adoption fees are simply a donation of your choosing to help us rescue the next!
Maya is a 13 month old Golden Retriever mix with lots of energy and love to give.. she has been rehabilitating with the pack since August. She is an Abuse Survivor who is looking for a very specific home!
A k9 high energy playmate
Large fenced in yard, prefer acreage
Patient adult humans with older/teen children
Firm but gentle leadership
Maya loves car rides, running, rough housing dogs, tug, fetch, exercise, people, kids, zoomies, shredding stuffies or dog beds when bored.
Maya doesn't like hitting, swatting, yelling, being alone for more than 4 hours, going inside new places, most treats, having to watch out for small pets, kids, elderly or the injured.
Maya is sweet, affectionate and a highly active fun dog! She is spayed, hw negative, utd on all Vaccinations.
If Maya's needs are not met as mentioned above she becomes destructive! For example, if you leave her alone for 5 hours and/or have left her with no activities in her crate she will break out and try to eat through a wall to find you. If you have her around small children or animals or an injured person, she will run right through them at some point! If you begin swatting, hitting, yelling to get her attention she will begin destroying your home by urinating or chewing it! If she does not get enough exercise on a daily basis she will act out! Please do not inquire if you cannot meet all of these items! She is young and still healing from her past and has come a long way from the poor dog we couldn't even touch 3 months ago. We took all seven down to the city of Hartford for a social outing. They were practicing seeing others from the comfort of our vehicle. The pack which consists of Tess, Jax, Kyra, Briar Rose and Trixie Rose with special guests Mr Paco the Taco Wiggles and Maya. While the pack is very well versed in human interaction, Tess will always struggle in this area. Wigs and Maya gained much confidence by being in the safety of the vehicle and surrounded by the pack. Dogs learn best from other dogs:-) Wigs is gaining more confidence with each outing and is now allowing others to pet him and even seeking out attention. Maya is slowly gaining confidence and felt very comfortable being petted from inside of the vehicle, as long as she had Jax and Kyra right next to her. Strangers can still tell that she has some hesitation, but she is coming along nicely:-)

Your silly meow and heckle will always be a memory that will put a smile on my face. Your ability to round up 10 dogs into a line at the water, will remain unmatched.Thank you for choosing us to love and bully for your long, incredibly adventurous life. Cats rule and dogs drool because of you sweet girl! I miss the softness of your smokey fur and those dazzling green eyes already 😢
