We want to involve the community in our efforts to care for the animals. We WANT and NEED Volunteers - to walk the dogs, play with the cats, foster animals until we find a permanent home for them, help with fundraisers and adoption events, cleaning cat cages at the Muncie PetSmart, caring for the animals at the shelter. We are ALWAYS in need of items such as bleach, pine sol, laundry detergent, dish soap, paper towel, trash bags, scoopable litter, toys for cats and dogs, metal food bowls, blankets, towels, sheets, pillow cases, snacks for the animals, and really anything that you would use for your pets at home! Monetary donations and gift cards are great as well. We are an adoption partner with PetSmart. We attend adoption events at Muncie, Fort Wayne (Marysville Road), Carmel, and Noblesville PetSmart locations. We are very rescue friendly and are grateful to the rescues in their efforts to help us with our animals. We do require a signed contract with the rescues we work with. We are located at 2520 N. 200 E. Hartford City. The shelter is staffed seven days a week. However, we are closed to the public on Mondays and Wednesdays. Hours for the 5 other days of the week are 10:30-12:30 and 4:30-6:30. Appointments for hours outside of these times and days can also be made!
