Second BRVHA Hunter Show in the books! These kids did a great job. That includes the kids over 30. I think for this time I am going to go top to bottom in age order.
Debbie and Digs- Well I will say that this was their best show yet. Debbie had a great day and ended the day as xrail hunter high point. If you knew Digs about a year ago, you would understand that this is a massive accomplishment.
Darcy and Pink-These two come to BRVHA for fun and to hang out with the crew. They had a great day. Pink was pretty sure that the rest of the kids were going a touch slow, but that's ok. They had a lot of fun and a great day.
Amber and Basil- This team made massive strides. Previous shows were a bit more green. This show Basil really was looking like she belonged. It was pretty awesome. Basil is starting to be a little more confident in the show ring. It has been fun watching these two grow and become a great team.
Morgan and Huck- Huck always tries to keep it interesting. Morgan had a bit more of a chill attitude, that we have been working hard to attain. It was awesome to see. Huck had a little too much fun in the hunter hack class, but Morgan recovered fabulously. She ended the day with Huck as highpoint of the 2' Hunter division.
Elizabeth and Tuesday- These two have made a fabulous improvement. Elizabeth has started to consistently wear spurs and Tuesday is not sure she loves this. On the other hand it really makes her bend. This has brought a different kind of loft to Tuesdays canter and it is awesome. I am excited to see how these two grow this summer. Elizabeth and Tuesday ended the day as Highpoint of the Working Hunter division.
Emma and Mayo- Emma started the day a little rough. She had a t-bone collision in the warm up ring and it got into her head. Her first class she was stuck a little on the parking brake, after that, she was able to let go and it opened up fabulously. Emma can definitely struggle when it comes to showing but she is starting to learn to let go of the small stuff. It's a work in progress but it is getting better. Emma and Mayo ended the day as Reserve High Point of the 2' Hunter Division.
Emmie and Pinocchio- This was Pinocchio's second show ever. He is growing and learning how to be a big kid. He went into two in hand classes and placed in both. He won showmanship. It was also pretty cool that end of the day the judge took some time to help Emmie as Emmie has never had a stallion. Thank you Chrissy Southwick!!!
Abby and Scrawny- Scrawny has definitely been fighting hard to give Miss Abby a run for her money. I am super proud of Abby as she never gives up. The first round of fences was definitely a struggle, but we bended and weaved and she was able to get around the other two courses. I think the big win of the day was that Abby and Scrawny placed second in hand. Pretty awesome. I am excited to watch this team grow, Abby is a trooper and hard worker for sure.
Lilly and Helix-Lilly and Helix had a great day. Beginning of the day Helix wasn't so sure about all of the chaos around him. This was a pretty big atmosphere, and I think that he just wasn't sure. After some grass therapy, he chilled out and both him and Lilly had a great day. I believe she had a great time hanging with the kids. I am excited to watch these two grow. She won her equitation and ended the day Reserve Highpoint of the W/T cross rail division.
Mia and Huck- Mia had a fabulous day. She used her corners and rode around a bit more confident than her first show. I am more proud though of how much she stepped up as a teammate at this show. Beginning of the day, a rider wasn't quite ready and she was helping put her together to make sure she got to her first class. She made sure that everyone felt included, even when having the cutest little six year old in her "group". She did have a great show, Mia and Huck ended the day as Highpoint of the W/T cross rail division.
Calla and TJ- This was Calla's very first show. She did not have a ton of lessons before it. TJ definitely made sure to take care of Calla, sometimes a little too much. Calla had some struggles but continued to get better as the day went on. She was quite frustrated at her imperfections, and I hope to see her make great strides, now understanding the goals that she would like to achieve. For her first show ever, she really had a great day!!!
Lilly and Lotto- This little match has grown. When Lilly first started riding Lotto, it was an interesting match. She was pretty sure that Lotto was her arch enemy. This year she has learned to really love her. Lotto has been Lilly's "project" this year. Helping Lotto learn to be a show horse, and even a lesson horse. Lilly won her equitation class in a huge division. Since everyday I work on equitation, I could not be more proud. Thankful for this kids dedication.
Vivian and Stormy- Vivian is growing and learning so fast. She has been working hard on maintaining a good pace, and understanding her leads. This weekend her pace was beyond perfect. I also was very proud of the way she worked in the ring, while having a lot of kids going everywhere. She kept her eyes up and aware of her surroundings to make sure she kept herself and Stormy safe. She was in a very big group of kids and walked away with ribbons. I am super proud of her day.
Reese and Bird-This team made MASSIVE strides from the first show till now. The first show Reese and Bird had some struggles. We have worked very hard at working through these. I was super proud of Reese's confidence going into her over fences classes. Last time Bird wasn't sure he wanted to participate. Reese learned the value of working as a team but also being in charge. They had a great day and I am loving watching her improve. Having people come up to me telling me her improvement was awesome. She has worked hard for that, and that makes me proud.
Violet and Lotto- Miss Violet is a leadliner, but she is working hard at being an independent rider. This was her first day on Lotto, and she just went along with her. Violet is growing and consistently improving. It is fun to watch little riders, become independent little riders.
