Long live summer. The last month has flown by and I haven’t kept up on posting- but here are some of the moments. Peaceful pauses while walking in the field are the breaths that feed my soul during this busy time. We love having a barn full of students and boarders and people caring for horses- sometimes my soul just needs a moment to look at a clover or watch the baby calf sleep in the shade. I know it’s a busy season, but these moments remind me to be present despite the hustle.

I’ve been very behind introducing new horses around here! We have had some movement of horses in and out (as boarding goes) and have some pretty cool new four legged friends! This one is Mr. Knight! He’s a handsome Percheron/Friesian cross, and fun fact, his stable was evacuated in a fire in California! Now his people have moved to Utah and we get to have him boarded at Appy Acres.

Look who I saw the other day! Our baby Brumby! He’s growing into a cutie pie at training- he’s been getting his 30 rides in Logan and is almost done. I was so happy when he recognized us and came when we called his name! ❤️ **tstarting

Welcome to our newest additions! Names still pending… but I think I’ve got some good ideas 😊. Sometimes things don’t work out how you think they will, but doors open in other directions and I believe there’s always a reason. I’m so excited to see what’s in store with these sweet things and we get to do baby stage this year! Hurray!

Mom is a 1/2 draft gruella (we are working on getting her back to herself) and baby is 1/4 draft quarter horse mix. We would love help getting these two acclimated to lots of loves from people. 💜

What a great snow-stach! Our new boarded horse Caspian is a super cute Percheron mix. He’s only 4, but his chill draft personality has made us fall in love with him! ❄️

Winter series wrap up!! At the end of this month we officially end winter series and gear up for our regular riding season. We had a blast renting the indoor arena and are grateful we had a dry place to keep learning this winter! We practiced some drill maneuvers, western pleasure, and played some games! We have a couple more barn lessons to go… but keep an eye out soon for our regular season registration email! 💙

I feel so blessed that we have Miss Dixie! She’s an incredible horse and has taken care of our students the whole time we have had her. I often say… can I duplicate this horse??! I snapped this photo cuz she was looking especially pretty standing by the muck pile. 🥰 Love you mama Dixie! Now if anyone has a way to clone horses… let me know. 😉

National Day of the Horse! 🐴 Naturally we need to show our appreciation for our current 11 Appy Acres horses. These are the ones we own, although we love our boarded horses at our barn too!

All these horses have their role. They all have pasts and are trying to give all they can in their present. We’ve learned and continue to learn from these horses and are so grateful to have their gifts at our barn. ❤️🐴
