Service Dog in Training Charlie is admiring his certificate after passing his initial public access test today!
Please join us in congratulating him and his handler!

We administer two public access test to our program dogs, one after 6 months of training and a minimum of one year old, this one is to say they are stable in public and ignore other people/food/animals/dropped items etc and overall have good handler focus.
Then they have another at eighteen months of training and at least 2 years old to show that they are fully trained.
Today Charlie proved to us that he is ready to begin more in depth task and start providing medical alerts.

As an ADI candidate program these test are crucial to check in on our dogs.
We are so proud of Charlie !

Service dog Meadow here to say we have two very big donation ask!

Service dog program funds are currently drained at the moment and expenses are coming out of our trainers pocket, so donations would be greatly appreciated to make purchases for necessities needed for our service dogs in training.
We will also be setting up an Amazon wishlist for some basic puppy items that a few of our program families need.
These dogs are lifesaving for their human partners, most of which are children.

Our rescue dog training program is also almost out of funding, with only $38 remaining in that account. This program provides training for families who would otherwise have to surrender their dog to the pound, or for high risk dogs who would be euthanized otherwise.

We also can provide an address for checks or can meet in person.

In addition to this we will be starting a sponsorship program where you can sponsor a dog for a child or veteran in need , more details of this to come.

Service dog in training Whispering Paws Canelo had a wonderful trip to Walmart today!
Canelo is showing great potential and we have no doubt that he will become the amazing service dog he is meant to be.
As a reminder it cost around $58,000 to fully train a service dog, but our program families are only asked to pay a tiny portion of this.
The remainder is paid by donations from generous people and businesses.
We are always appreciative of donations, whether that be volunteering, monetary donations, puppy raising, raffle items, puppy gear, etc.

For the remainder of August and the whole month of September we will be offering $5 AKC trick title and AKC Virtual home manners test! Our normal price is $10 per test so this is a huge deal.
We will also be offering AKC Canine Good Citizen testing for $15 instead of our normal $25, however this test must be completed in person rather than virtually like the others.

Service Dog Whispering Meadows would like to remind everyone that most service dogs are spoiled and loved. Not just by their handlers, but by the people around them.

A prime example of how loved this dog is: Today it was rainy when she joined her handler to the infusion center, so one of the super kind people decided Meadow needed a towel and a heated blanket.
Now she is snoozing and enjoying her life.

We are so thankful for the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff who give our service dogs great experiences in the hospital and doctors clinics, this is crucial for our dogs success at their jobs, as one negative experience could ruin their careers.

Service Dog In Training Whispering Paws Canelo did beautifully at the Augusta County Fair dog show hosted by Skyline Kennel Club
He got 4th in The Non Sporting Division and 3rd in Puppy Division.
He was wonderfully behaved and settled in the fast paced environment very well.

Canelo is one of our program dogs and has already been paired with a family.
As a reminder, we cannot continue to provide families with life changing service dogs without your donations, and if you cannot donate, sharing our post, or signing up to be a puppy raiser also help significantly.
