🐾 And then there was one… 🐾

The newest little kittens we had here are already starting their next chapters! ❤️

Nellie (the one wearing the cone because she was the ONLY one who refused to leave her stitches alone 🤣) went home last night! 🏡

Newton is being picked up today, which means that just leaves sweet Nikki, our beautiful little tortie girl. 🧡🖤

And surprisingly, we don’t have any applications for her yet!

Nikki’s adoption fee is $200 with an approved application. She has already been:

🐾 Spayed
🐾 Vaccinated
🐾 Treated for fleas and ticks
🐾 Dewormed
🐾 Microchipped!

She will need an FVRCP booster in a couple of weeks. You can schedule that with your regular veterinarian, or you’re welcome to bring her back here and I can do it for you.

And yes... all three of these kittens were microchipped! 🎉 Microchipping is a service we’re going to be adding here at The Messenger Animal Rescue very soon, and we’re excited to be able to offer another layer of protection for the animals who leave our care. ❤️

Now we just need to find Nikki her happily ever after! 🏡🐾

Just a reminder that we are CLOSED today! 🐾❤️

You may see a few vehicles at the shelter because we have a couple of scheduled adoptions that we’ll be processing today. 🎉🏡

However, we are not open for regular visiting hours or walk-ins today.

🐾💕 One more sleep for Honey and Hazel! 💕🐾

Their new family is leaving bright and early tomorrow morning to make the drive here from New Hampshire to pick them up! 🥹🏡

Tomorrow is a BIG day for these two sweet girls as they officially head off to their forever home! ❤️

We are definitely going to miss Honey and Hazel around here, but this is exactly what we hope for with every animal who comes through our doors... watching them leave with a family of their very own.

We can’t wait for the updates and photos from their new family and to see them settling in and living their best lives together. 🐱🐱💕

🚨 ARE YOU SITTING DOWN?! 🚨

After 291 DAYS in the shelter, Ginny and Georgia have an APPROVED APPLICATION!! 🥹❤️🏡

Some lovely folks stopped by today to meet everyone, and they absolutely fell in love with these two sweet girls! A quick phone call to their vet for a reference confirmed what I already knew in my heart... they are excellent pet owners!

They’re going to spend the weekend getting supplies and getting everything ready for their new family members, and the plan is for them to come Monday morning to pick Ginny and Georgia up!! 🎉

I cannot even tell you how happy this makes me. This has made my whole day! ❤️

These girls have been here for so long. For 291 days, they’ve watched other cats come through our doors, get chosen, and head off to their forever homes while they continued to wait.

And wait.

And wait.

We kept saying that their people were out there somewhere... they just had to find them.

Well… I think they finally did. 🥹❤️

If all goes according to plan, Ginny and Georgia will be spending their last weekend in the shelter.

🐾 Max has been a bit of a troublemaker in the cat room lately… 😂

Max apparently thinks one of his jobs is to keep everyone on their toes. He likes to stalk some of our smaller kitties and then pounce when they least expect it. Unfortunately for Max, not everyone appreciates being ambushed! 😂 He can definitely play a little rough, and some of the other cats would prefer that he learn a thing or two about personal space.

His son, Concrete, on the other hand, is an absolute gentleman. ❤️ He loves everybody... even Willow and Maisie, who seem to swat him every time he gets a little too close. 😂 Concrete just takes it in stride and continues on with his day.

We really hope Max and his son Concrete can find their happily ever after soon. These two boys are bonded and need to go home together. ❤️

They are currently the only two boys in our cat room, so they are VERY outnumbered by all these ladies! 😂

Max may be our resident troublemaker and Concrete may be our sweet little peacekeeper, but together they make a pretty great pair. 🐾❤️

They’ve been patiently waiting for someone to choose them. Maybe their perfect family is out there reading this right now. 🥹

🐾 Maisie would like to remind everyone that tomorrow is Friday! 🐾

That means it’s typically the last day of the week that we’re able to approve adoption applications the same day.

As part of our adoption process, we contact your veterinarian for a reference. Since most vet offices are closed on weekends, I generally can’t complete and approve applications on Saturdays or Sundays.

Depending on who your vet is, there are a couple of local veterinarians whose cell numbers I have, and they usually don’t mind if I send them a quick text after hours or on the weekend for a reference. ❤️ But as a general rule, applications that come in after hours or on weekends will have to wait until the next business day that your vet clinic is open.

And speaking of adopting… Miss Maisie is STILL patiently waiting for her perfect home. 🥹❤️

Maisie is a beautiful, sweet girl who mostly likes to mind her own business. She doesn’t necessarily mind other cats as long as they respect her personal space! 😂 If another cat gets a little too close for her liking, though, Maisie has absolutely no problem letting them know they’ve crossed the line.

She’d probably be happiest with a calm, respectful feline companion or as your one-and-only kitty where she can enjoy all the attention and personal space she deserves. 🐱💕
