I will be on hiatus for the foreseeable future!

I do not know when I will start my program back up as of now. My family is going through some big, but fun life changes soon that will be taking a lot of time and focus.

If you’re interested in a pup I do have a couple from my most recent litter. I had planned to hold them back, but I have decided it would be best to place in a pet home.

Thank you to everyone that has supported my hamstery over the last couple years. I’m always here for hamster care and support during my time off!

This golden satin LH girl has been returned to us after just 8 days at her new home. She is super sweet, outgoing, and needs a home that understands she’s a busy girl!
Her adoption fee is waived and she will be available after a brief quarantine here. Proof of proper set up is required and since her adoption fee is waived expect a few questions from me to ensure she’s going to a committed forever home as I do not want her to bounce around.

Policy update!

Pricing: The time has come for me to up my prices. I’m posting the new price sheet here to show what prices will be going forward for future litters. My current litters will still be under my previous pricing. Unfortunately prices for food, bedding, gas, medical care, etc have only gone up and this hobby has no longer been paying for itself. While I do not expect to make a profit I do need to make sure my Hamstery can cover costs. I put a lot of time and effort into these pups to ensure this process is special/fun for adopters and to make sure pups are well socialized, healthy, and ready for their new homes.

Deposits: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold pups until they are ready to go to their new homes. The remaining 50% is due at pick up or 24 hrs before I meet transport.

Transport: I do work with transport, so long as adopters understand that anything that goes on while on transport is out of our control. I will not put pups on transport that are less than 8 weeks old!

Pedigrees: I will not be giving pedigrees to pet homes unless requested. Reason being that it is time consuming to put all pups into the software and then remove them all. My software has limit before I have to pay for more storage space. Pedigrees will be provided to approved breeder homes.

Adoption requirements: As outlined in my care guide a photo of set up is required before pups leave my care. I require proof of a minimum 600 sq inch enclosure, proper sized wheel, and food.

I feel I need to post this to set some expectations here. I get a lot of inquiries, some are serious, but most are what I’d call, window shopping. Within these inquiries come potential adopters ā€œinterviewingā€ me, asking for photos of my set up or hamsters in or out of said set up, a list of information (which is usually posted on my page), videos of various hamsters, FaceTime, phone calls, a list of demands for their potential pup, etc. If I sent every single inquirer their list of questions, videos, and photos that is all I’d be doing in a day just for many of them to never reply, thank me for my time, or tell me they aren’t interested. So the time has come for me to set expectations of my time moving forward because I’m usually a people pleaser….

I feel I’m very transparent with how I operate. I have a lot of information on my page. I post a lot of videos and photos when I have pups and I send updates out weekly. I expect potential adopters to have looked through my page, my photos, my videos, and my pinned posts to see if I’m someone they want to adopt from. Unfortunately, I do not have time for endless interviews for someone that may not end up adopting from me. I just cannot and will not do this moving forward. I have a life outside of this Hamstery and it’s VERY busy. I do this because I love what I do! I love seeing happy adopters with happy hamsters, but the hamstery itself is VERY time consuming especially when I have pups. I spend a lot of time messaging with people, answering questions, sending photos and videos and while I’m happy to do so I also feel that I need to respect my time, my family’s time, the hamster’s time and schedule, and the time of adopters who are serious and have placed deposits and are waiting on their pup!

I urge all potential adopters to please look through my page and my previous posts. See if I’m someone you want to adopt from. If you feel like you have to send me an interview of questions after that then we probably are not a good match. I honestly do not know any other breeders that will oblige these interviews and requests.

I have AMAZING adopters who trust me and trust my transparency and are respectful of my time and effort. I truly appreciate them for giving their pups wonderful homes!!! I put a lot of time and energy into my hamsters and trying to make the adoption process easy, fun, and exciting for adopters all while maintaining standards here and providing adopters with life long support. If that is not enough for potential adopters then I don’t know what is, but I will no longer spend time convincing someone to adopt from me.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

I only have a few hamster pups left still looking for their forever home! I do plan to take the summer off from breeding, so I will not have any pups available for a while after these litters.

During my time off I will be shifting my focus and cutting back on colors I work on. I have not decided which of my projects to cut, but I do know I want to narrow my focus to ensure that type shines through in the projects I do plan to keep. I may retire some hamsters to pet homes due to this decision or they will just stay here and live a pet life. I already operate small, but this will shrink my focus even more. My goal here is not and never was to offer a ton of colors to choose from- health, temperament, and type always come before color for me. I know adopters love lots of colors to choose from, but I want to maintain my standards of care and the standard of hamsters I produce here. Scaling back more will only allow me to better reach those goals.

Thank you all for your support! I have some of the best adopters and I appreciate every one of you who has been supportive of my program!
