Tonight… hanging with her bff. Getting closer by the inch every day.

It looks like you could just slip a collar on, but it’s not that easy. Ears are back … she’s still figuring him out. She will bolt. ⚡️

I can’t wait until she’s getting a big hug and smooch from me!

Last night was awful. Her bff was there feeding her, continuing to slowly gain trust. Just then, a vehicle collided with the wall (loudly) and it startled her.

She bolted quickly heading north. We searched until sundown without success. This morning she reappeared in her spot. We have GOT to get her outta there. 🙏 Jess Cantu

If it’s too hot for your bare feet, it’s too hot for theirs. 🌡️Pavement can reach 125°F+ in summer sun—enough to burn your dog’s paws in seconds.

✅ Walk early mornings or late evenings
✅ Stick to grassy areas or shaded paths
✅ Check the pavement with your hand or foot before heading out

So proud to see Sea Turtle, Inc release SIX Green Atlantic Sea Turtles… and incredibly proud that my mom, Janice Casey has hit the 100 hour club. She was able to release “Caramel” into the Laguna Madre Bay of South Padre Island today.

Mom, your passion amazes me and ignites this rescue work even more. Way to give back, make a difference and inspire others to get involved in their communities!

• Cats known to be FeLv positive or found to be positive are not eligible for the vaccination and our flat cost of $200 remains. 😸

Tomorrow is our first day of Pre-Registration for Saturday’s Vaccine & Microchip Clinic! 🎉 We will begin at 5:30pm and end at 7:30pm in person at the shelter. The same for Wednesday as well. Harlingen residents only with proof of residency in the form of a utility bill (Light, Water, Internet/Cable) and a valid ID matching the bill. We look forward to seeing everyone! 🐾
