Pennsylvania has lost one of its K9 heroes. 🐾💙🌈

State Police announced that one of their K9s, Eva, passed away on Monday.

Troopers announced on Facebook that Eva passed away on Monday morning. She performed drug detection duties alongside Trooper Jason Laudermilch until 2017, when she retired and became a loving family member. Troopers say Eva was nearly 16 years old.

We are saddened to share the passing of PSP Canine Eva. K9 Eva proudly served Troops K and J from July 2011 to August 2017, working alongside her handler, then-Trooper Jason Laudermilch, in drug detection duties. Following her retirement, Eva enjoyed a long and loving life as a cherished family member with her retired handler, Corporal Jason Laudermilch. She was nearly 16 years old. We thank Eva for her faithful service and dedication to the Commonwealth.
