We founded our group in honor of a dear little dachshund named Sophia Grace. Sophia was a sweet little 12-year old dachshund who was rescued from a situation where she spent all her life without receiving any medical care. When she came into rescue she was severely malnourished, sickly and had to have nearly all her teeth pulled. Through the "Grace" of so many selfless contributors we were able to

get her the medical care that she so badly needed, and had been denied all her 12 years on earth. Sophia Grace lived out her final years in her forever home in Michigan where she thrived and grew stronger each day. It is in her honor that we founded our organization, and we will honor her with every dachshund we are able to help now and for many years to come!

We are overwhelmed with emotion for one of our very special foster girls. This is Bella, an 11-year-old sweetheart who came to us with her bonded sister, Baby Girl, when their owner could no longer care for them.

From the moment she arrived, we knew Bella's dental health was critical. Nothing, however, could have prepared us for what our vet found. She called it the worst mouth she has ever seen in her entire career. 🥺

For years, this resilient little soul has been enduring unimaginable pain in silence. Earlier this week, she underwent a life-changing dental surgery. She now has only one tooth left, but she is finally, blessedly, pain-free.

We are so grateful to her incredible foster family for providing her with the love and care she needs for this difficult recovery. Our vet believes we might see a whole new personality emerge now that her constant pain is gone.

While Bella heals, her sister Attila the Buns (affectionately nicknamed “Buns” for her mighty curves 🍑) is on her own journey to a healthier weight. These two sisters are absolute loves who crave affection and enjoy walks and car rides.

This is why we do what we do. Senior dogs like Bella and Buns deserve a chance to live their golden years in comfort and joy. The cost of such extensive dental work is significant, but her freedom from pain is priceless.

My name is Rocky and the universe has beef with me. 🥊

Let's review the last few weeks:
➡️ Got dumped & landed in the shelter.
➡️ Hernia surgery sutures said "psyche!" and split open.
➡️ Forced to wear clearance-rack baby clothes (yes, they’re for girls, I'm secure).
➡️ FINISHED my meds!... then immediately tore my dew claw.
➡️ Now I've stepped in tree sap like some kind of amateur.

My human is trying olive oil. Pray for me. Also, my sister Skylar (the sassy diva judging me) is no help.

💙 The Dumpster Chihuahua: This brave little boy was thrown away like trash. Because of you, he is now out of the high-kill shelter and learning what kindness feels like in a safe foster home.
💙 Prince Chops: This sweet "poodle doodle" was hours from euthanasia at high-kill shelter. Your donations paid for his freedom, and he is now thriving with other dogs in his foster family.
💙 Alex, the Shih Tzu mix: Rescued from a desperate situation, Alex is now on his journey to finding the loving home he always deserved.

This Labor Day, give a hard-working sweetheart her well-deserved forever retirement. 🐾❤️

Meet Lady Fig! This 12-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua mix is a testament to resilience and is ready to trade her foster title for a forever family. While many are enjoying a day of rest today, senior dogs like Lady are working the hardest job of all: waiting for a home. 🏡

Let's be upfront about this lovely lady: Lady is spayed, current on all vaccinations, and has a grade 3 heart murmur. Because of this, she cannot undergo anesthesia for a dental cleaning. Her murmur is managed beautifully with a daily, inexpensive dose of Lasix, which controls her occasional slight cough. This is a lifelong medication, but it keeps her happy and healthy! 😊

And what a happy girl she is! Lady is the definition of a perfect companion dog. She is:
✅ House-trained & crate-trained
✅ Gentle with dogs, cats, and kids
✅ Quiet and incredibly sweet-tempered
✅ Content to be your loyal lap dog

🎉 SEVEN ADOPTIONS! OUR HEARTS ARE BURSTING! 🎉

We are absolutely overjoyed to announce that SEVEN of our fosters have found their forever homes!

Let's celebrate each one of these amazing transformations:

➡️ PATCHES: This superstar worked so hard! Through daily 2-mile walks and dedicated care, he shed 5 life-changing pounds (a huge amount for a small dog!) and is now a healthy, energetic boy. He was officially adopted by his new foster family after we put out an urgent call for a placement. Talk about a foster win!

➡️ COCO: This sweet 7-year-old Chihuahua mix was not doing well in the shelter environment at all. He needed a quiet place to land... and he found it with his foster mom, who fell so in love she just couldn't let him go! We're so happy for this foster fail! ❤️

➡️ ZOLA: Found as a stray, Zola was terrified in the noisy kill shelter. She came to us to learn how to feel safe again. Now, she's not only been adopted, but she has a furry sibling to play with every day!

➡️ MACY: Our hearts broke for this sweet 10-year-old girl who was surrendered when her family lost their home. Confused and terrified in the shelter, she didn't understand what was happening. Now she knows only safety and love in her new home.

➡️ SWEET PEA: This is what dedication looks like! Sweet Pea's new mom drove all the way from Rochester, NY, to Frederick, VA, to bring her baby girl home! We love a long-distance love story.

➡️ RUBY: This beautiful 11-year-old smooth red gal needed a quiet home without young children. Thanks to her new mom's amazing connections with Pilots N Paws, Ruby arrived in Pittsburgh in STYLE with a private flight to her fabulous new life!

➡️ RYAN: This sweet 10-year-old boy's journey is a testament to teamwork! He made the long trip from Ohio to his furever home in New Jersey, thanks to the incredible effort of FIVE dedicated transport drivers. We are so grateful he is finally safe and loved.

Boots: The Cuddle Commander 🫡 reporting for duty!

Attention, blanket hoarders and lap enthusiasts! My mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find a human to serve as my permanent heating pad and Chief Blanket Fort Architect. In return, I offer relentless loyalty and a tiny, but mighty, alarm system to announce your every move (yes, even that one). ☺️

I may be a 12-pound, 6-year-old Chihuahua mix who strongly resembles a certain free elf, but my personality is 100% pure dynamite. 🧨 I'm house-trained, great with kids and other pets, and my ears are professionally tuned for the sound of cheese being opened.

A few "quirks" my adoption counselor says you should know:

· My "guard bark" could wake a dragon from its slumber. Apartment dwellers, you’ve been warned! 🚨
· I have a PhD in Lap Claiming and Snack Redistribution (they’re mine now).
· I will require a sock. Not to be freed, but because I’m cold. Just one sock. Preferably warm.

We’re Bingo and Rollie! 🐶

Our last job (as full-time allergy triggers) just didn't work out. 🤧 So, we’re taking our talents to a new lap!

Our specialty? Cozy naps, expert-level snuggling, and providing a 24/7 cuteness stream. We’re a bonded pair, which is a fancy way of saying we’re a package deal of love and snores. 😴 We’re great with other animals, and while we take our "neighborhood watch" duties very seriously (translation: we bark at leaves), we promise to keep the lectures brief.
