Just a reminder that the pre-trial hearing for Heather Birkmire is next Monday August 31 and we need to contact the Columbiana County, Ohio Prosecutor's Office to thank them for what they have done thus far and this case is extremely important to the future welfare of all horses.

We understand that the current laws are insufficient for protecting horses and because of this horrific this case the Equine Protection Act was recently presented to the legislature that would extend Ohio’s animal cruelty protections to horses through House Bill 992 and would enact new Section 959.135 of the Ohio Revised Code https://www.ohiohouse.gov/members/matt-huffman/news/rep-robb-blasdel-introduces-ohio-equine-protection-act-147576 If this legislation is to become law, the case that prompted it NEEDS to go to trial keep in the public informed and get this law across the fininsh line.

We understand your lives are very busy, most don't live nearby or you're working with a parent or a friend and you don't have your own VIP account. Because of that we a slightly revising the volunteer requirement. You may have someone else designated as your volunteer sponsor. However that person must use the VIP sign up and designate who they are sponsoring. However it is your respobsibility to find a person (if not already volunteering) to sign up. Additionally we are only requiring that you attend 2 of the 4 events and we have not had the time to go through and check them. If you have any additions or changes please contact Laura Fine at [email protected] BTW laura has volunteered to do the leaderboard and the Team Volunteer Challenge and she's racking up thos wolunteer hours working from home. Yhere are plenty of other things that you can help with from home such as making fliers for the upcoming Jumper Show and Fall Hunter Pace on Oct 3 - 4 and the Volunteer Appreciation Days on Oct 10 - 11, how about a help wanted add for a volunteer coordinator. I could go on and on but I think you get the idea ;)

FINALLY: don't forget that entries for the Sept 20 Mini Trials close next Tuesday and entries for the Jumper Show, Hunter Pace and the November Waylon Roberts clinic open that same day!!

Thanks for coming. Without competitors there would be no reason to have competitions and without volunteers there would definitely be no competitions.

Attention ALL Team Stone Gate Farm Volunteers. Here's an update of team volunteer hours. Obviously it is inaccurate for various reasons. Remember each volunteer has to create their own account, do just say who you are volunteering with. Secondly you have to sibmit those hours for review so you can get credit for those hours. I also know of sevreal volunteers who just help without ever signing up or recording hours. We really would like to acknowledge your efforts and so that others can see just how many people are required to help nthese competitions run smoothly.

If you have any corrections or additions please contact Laura Emily King Fine so the file can be updated.

Finally we still need suggestions who to calculate hours in relation to the number of team members what would be appropriate awards.

Oct 4 Hunter Pace.

UPDATE 8/24: Thank you all for your suggestions but I have finally made a decision. Grammi’s Home Bakes, Baked with Love. will be at the September 20th Mini Trials. She will be joining our main food vendor Curt's Concessions and the new drink vendor Sippz

This is the 2nd season without Robert Monter the dessert guy
I know a lot of you miss him and his delicious treats but unfortunately for us he has moved on to other things. So I was wondering if any of you would be interested in a baked goods vendor? What would you like to see offered? Just thinking out loud.🍪🍰🍨🍩

The cement was poured yesterday. Speaking of pouring,there was a brief downpour when we were waiting for the second load of cement. Please, when dumping manure, dump in the middle not on the edges. The reason why it is so large is because we can only spread the manure on the fields at certain times of the year and the manure pile will get piled high during the season.

The little creek recently moved this heavy bridge on the trail course. I wonder how far it would have gone if a fence post hadn't stopped it. Rushing water is powerful!!

Almost ready to pour the cement they still need to put a little bit more limestone sand in to fill some of the low areas obviously everything's sloping the One direction so that we don't get standing water. There's a couple low spots that he needs to fill with limestone sand as it's a lot less expensive than the cement. Not sure when the cement's going to get poured and it's going to be ready but in the meantime if anybody comes to the farm to school or for a lesson and uses a stall and picks it out, please do not put it on top of the limestone sand until it's ready to go. Thank you
