In case you were wondering if hydrotherapy works, meet Piper.
Piper started coming to me 7 weeks ago. At that time she had not walked more that a few steps on all four legs after her surgery in January.
Today Piper walked 520 feet on the treadmill using all 4 legs. She has a long way to go to get to her old self but she’s come so far in a short period of time!

Fullmoon Koi Bettas are not commonly found and I’ve never seen one this stunning.

K9 AquaKinetics is proud to announce the first in shop successful spawn and birth of a batch of albino bristlenose plecos.
These babies will grow up in the shop so you can watch their progress and learn about what it takes to grow them into healthy gorgeous adults.
Please excuse the cloudy water. I just dosed their vitamins and powdered foods.

You will never find a common pleco at K9 AquaKinetics.
Why? Because few fish keepers understand the level of commitment these fish require to keep them in a suitable environment.
When I ask customers to tell me about their tank it serves many purposes. The number 1 purpose is to allow me to recommend fish suitable for their aquarium size as well as their level of experience.

The Petsmart employee told my son this tiny “algae eater” would stay “about the size of a hotdog” and help CLEAN the tank 😭 CLEAN THE TANK?? This thing now produces biological waste at the level of a medium sized farm animal. I upgraded from a 55 gallon to a 150 gallon and somehow HE still acts cramped like I’m violating his constitutional rights. The employee also said they’re “low maintenance” while casually forgetting to mention they apparently require $900 in filtration equipment and consume zucchini like a competitive eating champion. Yesterday I watched this prehistoric sewer submarine inhale an entire cucumber in under 4 hours and then leave behind a p**p the size of a pool noodle. My electric bill looks like I’m operating a public aquarium and my family refers to him as “the mortgage pleco.” Why are pet stores still selling these things to beginners like they’re cute little decorations??

If you have been into the shop and talked fish with me, you have heard me say that a weekly 50% water change is the best thing you can do for your fish and the health of you tank. You might wonder if I practice what I preach.
In truth, I do NOT do 50% water changes.
I do closer to 75-80%. Sometimes I do 100% water changes due to different circumstances. The reason I don’t encourage the average keeper to do changes this large is because not everyone has the experience to identify and correct issues that can arise from water changes that large. However, sometimes they are necessary, especially in breeding tanks requiring pristine water parameters.
Picture is of today’s water change on my bristle nose breeding tank. I also pulled another 150 fry for my grow out tank. For 3 breeding pairs in the tank, they are really cranking out the babies! I an averaging an 80% survival rate at the moment so the shop will have some stellar plecos in the next couple months. Stop in frequently to see the new stock.

For those who have been patiently waiting, I am bringing a dozen red/dirty red bristlenose plecos to the shop today. Most are long fin. These are out of my breeding lines so they are super nice and really healthy.

The next batch is about a month from ready so come grab yours today before they sell out.
