About Cézanne:
Serupgaards Cézanne is a black 2019 Danish Warmblood Stallion, bred in Denmark by Heidi Bickham. He was imported by the Nickerson family in 2021 and started his training with W***y Arts at DG Bar Ranch. He began his dressage career in 2023 and has compiled impressive results.
In 2023 he qualified for the USEF Festival of Champions 4-year-olds class, where he finished 4th overall and won his first class with a High Point score of 88.8%. Again in 2024 he qualified 1st in the country for the USEF Festival of Champions 5-year-olds division and finished 3rd overall.
At the 2023 & 2024 California Dressage Society Championships, he won the 4-year-old and 5-year-old Dressage Futurity classes. In an interview with W***y Arts, he described Cézanne as a “very talented horse, a complete horse with good gaits, good character and good temperament.”
In 2023 he was presented at the West Coast North American Sport Stallion Test (NASST) in Solvang, California and won that competition with a score of 8.76, including 9’s for his trot and rideability. He was presented at NASST again in 2024 as a 5-year-old and scored a very impressive 86.0 points.
Cézanne’s competition results confirm his superb dressage aptitude as summed up nicely by the following quote from the NASST KWPN judge Floor Dröge: “Cézanne is a well- developed stallion with three good gaits. He shows a remarkable natural balance, beautiful silhouette and a top rideability. His trot is already adjustable and shows a lot of technique.”
Cézanne is now lifetime approved for the Hanoverian, Oldenberg, KWPN, Rhinelander, Westfalen and Danish stud books.
Pedigree information:
Cézanne’s sire Tørveslettens Sylvester is a son of Triple World Champion Sezuan. Sylvester is a big-framed stallion with three excellent movements, which have been judged with 9 and 10 several times. In 2018, he was placed second in the qualification to the Danish championship for young horses with a score of 93,8% and later on the same year he was the sovereign winner of the 35-days performance test in Danish Warmblood with a total score of 8.70. Sylvester is bred out of a strong mare line. His dam is the elite and gold medal mare Tørveslettens Stamina who was WCYH finalist and competed in International Grand Prix with Andreas Helgstrand. The grandsire, Stedinger, competed in S-level in dressage. Stedinger sired several top horses as the champion stallion Status Quo, Schumacher, and the gold medal mares Tørveslettens Snowflake and Atterupgaards Minaia.
Cézanne’s dam is Serupgaard’s Sangria by Grand Prix stallion Blue Hors Romanov. Her dam is Serupgaard’s Sambuca by Grand Prix stallion Idocus Crown. Sambuca produced another mare by Romanov, Foldagers Chablis -so the full sister to Cézanne’s dam- who has performed at Grand Prix level. Behind Sambuca, the line goes back to a Dutch foundation line that has brought several good sport horses of which the Grand Prix horse Only Society (by Damocles) of Yessin Rahmouni.
