Saving Them All Rescue

Gideon is currently at NCSU Vet School. We got to visit him yesterday and he was so happy to see us. He heard our voices and turned around so fast to see us!
He had his bladder repaired last week and next week is scheduled to have his transpubic urethostomy. They found a sub arachnoid diverticulum in his spinal cord which is the cause of most of his issues- so in a few weeks he will also be undergoing neuro surgery. We hope these surgeries will fix up our little guy and he can live a relatively normal life. They don’t expect him to gain function of his back legs again but he will do just fine running over our toes in his wheelchair and walking around in his drag bag to protect his legs.

His journey looks different—but his life is still worth saving!

Gideon is currently at NCSU Veterinary school being seen by nephrology, neurology, dermatology, and surgery.

His bill is up to $12,735.

He is doing well, we are just trying to figure out why he was unable to urinate and clear up his non-healing wounds.
Tomorrow he will get an MRI and cystourethrogram to make sure it is safe to pull his urinary catheter .

Arlie (black) and Carlie (black and white) are a bonded pair of cats we’ve had since summer of 25. They came from a colony of cats and quickly became the sweetest things ever.

Funny story, we thought Arlie was a girl when we first got him and opened “her” up to be spayed. We soon realized, Arlie was a boy. I (Ellie) cried over this for days. Arlie is, however, the sweetest boy ever and we can say his insides are beautiful and healthy!

Meet Raspberry! ✨ aka Razzy, Razzle Dazzle, Berry ✨

This sweet girl was found eating marinara sauce out of a pizza box on our way to work one morning, so of course, she’s now with us.

She’s around 1 year old, spayed, vaccinated, all the things. She is super affectionate towards people and learning how to live inside with other cats and a dog. It’s been a slow start, but she’s coming out of her shell more and more every day!

Razzy would make the perfect addition to any house with calm cats or dogs, she absolutely loves people of all ages, and just wants to be held and fed churu all day.

We got our miracle!! Thanks be to the Lord!
Today with the help of NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine nephrology/urology team, we converted Gideon’s urinary catheter to a temporary urethral stent.
This can stay in place for longer term allowing everything to heal and hopefully allowing him to be able to urinate on his own with the help of some new medications.
He will be going to see the nephrology/urology team next month.

For now, he will have to remain in his cone and wear diapers to keep him clean and dry, but he’s alive and well. He is acting like his normal self and is full of life.
His legs wounds have healed wonderfully and have new granulation tissue already.
