HOW MUCH FOR A KITTEN ?
Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who writes an email to simply ask the price. The person who calls and after hearing a price surprisedly states: “I can buy a cheaper cat elsewhere”. I also address you; the person who doesn’t care about papers because I want “just a pet”.
No cat is “just a pet”.
Behind every pure bred cat is a BREEDER. I’m using capital letters to differentiate a breeder from a pet factory or mill. A reputable breeder does not breed cats without papers, that does not protect the integrity of the breed. Registration (papers) are records of lineage that document bloodline and allow one to research any possible health issues present in the lineage. When you tell a Breeder you don’t care about papers what you’re really telling them is you couldn’t care less about the health of the cat you just want the cheapest thing you can find! When you select to buy a cat from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for the health of every cat; both cats owned and every cat they’ve sold for its lifetime. This breeder will skip holidays, miss sleeping, and most of their personal house space has been turned into space for their cats . The truly passionate breeder who loves what they breed, puts their whole heart and soul into it. Not only in kittens that are sold, but also in each client who owns a piece of their heart and now is a member of their extended family. This does not take into account any kitten/cat who might get sick or need extra help to thrive. Breeders worry about their babies after they leave and will take one back without question.
A breeder will get their hands dirty, often covered in everything accompanied with birthing. Because that’s what life is about...In the middle of birth and death is life. The wheel that keeps turning. A breeder will do tests, echos, xrays, analysis, emergency c sections, vaccinations, register cats and litters, research pedigrees, deworm, as well as microchip their kittens and get them evaluated by specialists.
Last but by no means least, a breeder CHOOSES the family lucky enough to have one of their kittens. Yes, you read that right. A true breeder chooses who they sell to because they are not making money off the sale. There is no compensation that can offset the investment a Breeder has made so they need to be confident its the right fit. Many times saying more no’s then yes...A good Breeder will have different criteria for those wanting to carry on their bloodline, why? Because breeding is not a responsibility to ever be taken lightly, it’s a lifestyle choice set aside for ONLY the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.
Because a cat is never “just a pet” it’s the Breeder’s legacy, a little boy’s best friend, a little girls protector, an elderly persons therapy, a member of the family, someone’s whole world!!!

Scott is doing better he has got some feeling back in his legs but his lower back and pelvic area still has paralysis. His burns are still very bad but are heading nicely. His spirits are up and down but that is to be expected . Scott is a very athletic person and being stuck in bed for the last two weeks is a hard pill to take but he is greatfull to be alive. They are starting to talk about moving him to a local rehab facility which will make things so much easier for our family. The financial strain is enormous and any and all help is greatly appreciated and every donation no matter how big or how small helps this horrific tragedy. If you are unable to donate please share on all of your social media platforms so others can.

Update on our son Scott

Scott's day was eventful today, he woke up this morning feeling a little light headed and dizzy but we think a lot of that could be from where they're still playing with all of his meds a bit and that he didn't eat a whole bunch yesterday. His fingers look good, down to just the pinky possiby needing surgery to help it heal fully over the tendon but they said they will know for sure on Monday! He did really well in PT today, he got some exercises to work on while laying in bed that will help strengthen his glutes and back muscles making it easier and less painful to stand up/ sit down. He stood up and did the standing exercises, this did include putting his full weight on each hip using less support from his arms, we are continuing to work with them to see what movements cause the nerves to shoot off but it's getting better! He also decided to get out of bed a second time and his nurse was able to get me a wheelchair to walk him around in, I took him outside for a bit and toured him around this locked-up-like-Fort Knox hospital 😆. He is super tuckered out and is already asleep, he may stay like that until I leave at 8 but I think it will be good for him to try to get a full night's sleep. Overall a good day, taking the small victories and using those as motivation to keep going!

Please if you can donate it is greatly appreciated if not please share so others can. Scott has a long road to recovery and needs all the financial help possible.

Update:
Scott is recovering from back surgery and has been moved out of ICU to the burn unit so his hands can be treated. At this time they are in bad shape and they are talking about surgery and possibly amputation. He is in a lot of pain and his spirit is down which is to be expected. He started physical therapy and was in severe pain and they are now assessing the best course of action. Scott has a long hard road ahead of him. Please keep Scott and our family in your prayers, If you can donate it would mean the world if you can't please share so that others may.

My eldest son Scott Kramer was in a horrible accident while at work . While working on cable lines he was electrocuted and blown from the pole which was over 25 feet high. Lucky he was blown off the pole because if he hadn't no one would have been able to get to him in time. Buy the time someone got to him he was not breathing and didn't have a pulse. C.P.R was given and thankfully he was revived. He was life flighted to Washington DC to receive the best care possible. However he abstained sustained a broken lower back and tail bone from the fall. He has a tube in his chest for a pneumothorax which is air in the chest cavity and his hands are burnt very badly. He was taken into surgery yesterday for his broken back to remove the bone fragments from his spinal cord. He came out of surgery just fine and they have him strapped down so he can't move until he is healed enough. He is in a lot of pain and feels like he has been run over by a freight train. He is going to have a long road to recovery. Please keep him and our family in your prayers. If you can donate to his go fund me that would be greatly appreciated. If you can't donate please share this as much as possible. Every penny is greatly appreciated and extremely needed. If you would rather donate directly to Scott this is their Cash App: $amhansbrough

On Thursday, July 18th, WCFR was dispatched to Wendy Hill Road in the Shenandoah Farms area of the county for an electrocution. While conducting cable maintenance, it was suspected that high humidity in the air allowed the electricity to arc from the powerline, striking the patient. The patient subsequently fell approximately 25 feet from the ladder he was working on. Coworkers rushed to the patient’s aid and recognized he was in cardiac arrest. Bystander CPR was performed and by the time EMS arrived, the patient’s heart had restarted. EMS providers continued advanced life support treatment and determined the patient required specialized care due to the severity of his injuries. AirCare 4 (Front Royal) was requested and transported the patient to MedStar Washington Hospital.

“We applaud the quick actions taken by the patient’s coworkers. Without their help , the outcome probably would’ve been different. This incident highlights the critical importance of being CPR certified. Every second counts, and having the knowledge and skills to perform CPR can make the difference between life and death.” Said Fire Chief James Bonzano. The department offers monthly CPR courses, which can be found at www.warrencountyfire.com/635/events.
