Happy story!! ❤️❤️❤️

This sweet puppy, now “Duke,” presented to us a few weeks ago after having sudden discomfort to lift his head and open his mouth. He was just a baby, and it was so sad to see him in pain! Sedated oral and pharyngeal exam revealed no visible foreign material, but very inflamed and irritated tissue. He was hospitalized initially, then spent a few days on oral medications to treat infection and discomfort. He was slowly improving, but within a few days developed an abscess over his upper shoulder/neck area. We confirmed there was no penetrating injuries to his thoracic cavity, then again sedated and explored his abscess to find a SIX INCH skewer! Thankfully his procedure to remove the material was successful and he did well. He came in for suture removal this week and we are so happy to see him feeling great and now able to live his best puppy life with his head held high!!! Yay Duke! 👏👏
