Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab

November Food Drive!

FURR has rescued and rehabilitated hundreds of cats in the Hampstead/Wilmington area since 2008 — injured, abandoned, feral, and orphaned cats that would otherwise have had nowhere to go.

Every day we feed and care for two communities of cats:
> Rehabilitated, adoptable kitties at our FURR Adoption Center
> Many cats of our Feral Sanctuary

Your donations of food in November directly fill the bowls of these deserving cats and keep this all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) rescue going - every can counts!

Please donate securely via PayPal today: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=L8A6NKTNRF89A

OR

DROP OFF at the Arboretum West Leasing Office at 347 Arboretum Drive, Wilmington during November!

Sept. 1, 2026 Michael’s Dental Surgery has an extra Surprise! Fundraiser! He did well & had almost all of his teeth removed.

Michael’s surgery was $1,200!
Please donate securely via FURR’s PayPal page:
https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=L8A6NKTNRF89A

The good news is that he should do well after surgery and hopefully will start eating better and gain some weight!

He is the 3rd kitty out of the 4 rescued ferals from one location needing some serious dental surgery. Luckily, the 4th kitty has good teeth!

The interesting news about this surgery is that MICHAEL is a girl!

Sound Cat and I never bothered to look because it was an already ear tipped orange tabby and just assumed it was a boy!!! LOL!

When I picked up Michael yesterday from Sound Cat, we were all laughing because he is now “MICHELLE”!!!

Sept. 7, 2026 Treasure’s Amazing Rescue & Rehab Story - This extremely feral cat has made HUGE progress after only a few months. Watch this month’s video (New link 9/15): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/t6EkdyOKpl8

It’s amazing to compare his Sept. 2026 video above with this mid-February 2026 video from shortly after he was captured: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zepS9H0ies0

When FURR trapped “TREASURE” in mid-February 2026, he was feral, had badly matted fur, thin, dirty and angry and had a mouthful of dental issues.

Here is a video from early March 2026 right after his dental surgery: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/d2gkSe1Txfw
He had 3 broken canine teeth pulled and 1 canine was gone! Luckily, he did not have any other problems, such as stomatitis or gingivitis. I’m sure those broken canines were quite painful. After the surgery, but while he was still somewhat sedated, I was able to pet him a little without my bite glove on. This is one gorgeous cat.

It took me weeks to be able to pet him (with bite gloves on), but I spent hours & hours with him. I brushed him & got all the mats out of his fur. I talked to him, gave him treats and discovered that he is extremely food motivated.

The difference in his beginning and where he is now is truly amazing!

I was very reluctant to take in another feral cat at the moment. Ive been overwhelmed with too many cats, but I took him in and it is an amazing story.

TREASURE still needs more work before adoption, but he is very close! Look at this BEAUTIFUL cat now!!!

Oct. 17, 2026 MAMA BATTS HAS A HOME!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!

This little sweet, shy black overlooked girl has waited soooo long for a chance at love & home!!!

The wonderful, kind & compassionate fella that adopted Runny (another sweet shy overlooked black kitty) agreed to take Mama B! She will be a friend for Runny & both kitties knew each other before.

Both of these kitties had a hard start in life & suffered before being rescued at FURR.

Runny lived in an abandoned car wash & had a horrible painful infected runny eye. She survived because Kristy fed her every day until FURR had room to take her in.

The poor kitty now has an amazing home & she’s an uptown girl living in a beautiful high rise condo downtown Wilmington with huge windows & a view of the pool!

Now, Mama Batts has joined her & we are so thrilled! It’s a dream come true for 2 little black female kitties!

Mama Batts story was posted in the Pawprints magazine this month (see attached). I also wrote a story beside her ad about the fate of black dogs & cats. It’s unbelievably sad.

BUT!!! This story is a happy one for 2 little black kitties! I miss them both so much!

Sept. 2026 Foster or Adopt Mama Batts! Meet her in 2 new videos!

Sept. 2026 Look for Davis (right) and Stripes (left) in PawPrints Magazine!
https://www.pawprintsmagazine.com/

Please consider fostering or adopting this BONDED pair of SUPER KIND boys! Although we are not related, we spend all of our time playing together, eating & sleeping together! We are young adults & we are both GORGEOUS! We are fully vetted & just need a home to call our own! FURR rescued both of us when we were homeless & in rough shape! Please come meet us & you’ll fall in love!

Watch Davis’s new video showing his sweet nature and handsome silver tabby fur! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/18KTMrpWRSw

My niece found Davis almost dead in the bushes of her front yard! Anemic from hundreds of fleas, skin & bones from starvation and FULL of worms, this kitten was on his way out. My nieces husband wrapped him in a towel and brought him inside. I got a call and we all went to work!

After a couple weeks of meds, food and a flea bath, this little boy kitten is doing great! He is the sweetest and happiest fella! What a great rescue!
