We are sad to report that we had to say goodbye to Fruity yesterday. 😞

Despite excellent treatment and hard work and dedication from his team, his immune-mediated vasculitis was not improving. We could not get hemoglobin into the range where he could undergo surgery, and the surgery was becoming more urgent as tissue in his leg continued to die off. He also developed new areas of necrosis, and we decided that humane euthanasia was a better option than a risky surgery with almost no chance of normal recovery.

We are grateful that we were able to give this excellent boy a few months of happy home life, and we will miss him terribly. We are so grateful to Dr. Chiappetta for the excellent care and compassionate support he has given Fruity, as well as many of our other cats. 🧡

Grey Grey is a handsome boy around five years old. He loves to be where people are. He is an excellent snuggle partner. He is quite playful and loves his toys. But mostly he enjoys relaxing and watching everything around him.

He is neutered, vaccinated, negative for FIV and FeLV, microchipped and dewormed. Grey Grey’s ideal home will be as a single pet. He may do well with another easy going cat or dog but becomes quickly overwhelmed in households with many pets. He’s looking for a lap all to himself. Please share so we can find Grey Grey the furever home he deserves!🧡🧡

Fruity had a check-up this morning along with repeat labs. He’s definitely shown some improvement, and we hope that he will be ready for surgery soon. 🧡
