One month. Two full moons. And one of the rarest sky calendars in years.

May 2026 begins with the glowing Flower Moon on May 1 named for the season when spring blooms reach their peak across North America.

It ends with a rare Blue Moon on May 31 the second full moon in a single calendar month, something that only happens every few years.

--When to watch:
• May 1: Flower Moon rises after sunset
• May 31: Blue Moon visible before dawn and again after sunset

--Best place to look: Anywhere with a clear eastern horizon and low city lights.

Two full moons. Thirty-one days. One sky you won’t forget.

Job opening
Hammond kennels is looking for full and pastime kennel workers.The hours are 7am to 6pm Monday through Sunday. Must be able to work weekends and Holidays. Some details of the job,cleaning kennels and grooming areas room. Cleaning kennels and caring for dogs, cats and some small pocket pets. Feeding and administering medications. You will be working with pets of all temperaments. You should be able to lift 50 #. Wages start at minimum, and advance to $18.00 hour as training progresses. Please send resume to [email protected]. Hammond Kennels is looking for Full and Part-Time kennel workers. The hours are 7AM to 6PM, Monday through Sunday. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. Some details of the job include: cleaning/disinfecting kennels every morning, dishes, cleaning kennel and grooming areas. You need to work in close contact with dogs of all temperaments and sometimes cats. Occasionally we board birds and other pets. You should be able to lift 50 #.
