For horse trainers who believe they are always in control through instruction and dominance, working with a mule can be an enlightening experience, teaching the importance of humility and collaboration. Earning a mules trust will be your very first step every time and it could take weeks depending on the mule. If they don’t trust you, you can forget any and everything else.

Training mules has taught me the value of patience, which has significantly enhanced my skills in both horsemanship and mulemanship over time, with each new mule offering unique opportunities for growth.

Losing one of your children unexpectedly is something no one can be prepared for. Unfortunately, accidents happen everyday.

As your daddy prepares the grave, I waited to lay you in your final resting place because your body was still warm in my arms. Just know you were extremely loved the time you were on this earth.

Run free in the skies sweet girl. Daddy and I will see you again ❤️

Wanted to share my journey with Jed, a truly resilient mule who's triumphantly overcome significant trust issues due to manmade problems.

Through unwavering patience and consistency over the past 16 months, we've forged an unbreakable bond, and I've successfully pushed his limits with various exercises such as hopping on him ba****ck, standing up in saddle, parades, Benson Mule Days, night riding and wrapping Christmas lights all around him, etc.

This past weekend, after being turned out in the pasture for apporximately six-weeks, Jed performed magnificently, even when faced with a daunting situation where he had to pony another horse.

His calm demeanor and willingness to adapt are a shining testament to his remarkable growth and our transformative partnership.
