It costs us $250 every single month to keep just one sanctuary horse safe, fed, and cared for.

Right now, as you all know, we are struggling to keep up with hay, grain, and medical costs. We need all the help we can get- and I have seen us be able to achieve enormous goals when we all work together for the horses. Whether it’s $1, $5, $25 or $100.. all of it adds up, sharing our posts is a HUGE help also- and it can help us restore the feed fund and emergency fund that once sat at $5000-$10000- and not consistently below $2000.

Board update!!! We’re getting so close!

Round bales were delivered earlier today! It got super hot with a few storms surrounding us that never opened up, so after unloading bails from the semi then moving all the bails I ended up a little heat exhausted with a pounding headache but I was already dehydrated from yesterdays work.

🔥✨❤️BOARD UPDATE!! ❤️✨🔥

I went ahead and attached the boards together so it’s easier! Our round bale board is covered! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR HELPING!! 🫶🏻🥺

✨✨✨We have had TWO people generously come forward to sponsor two horses for the month with a $250 donation- sponsoring a horse means their feed, hay, farrier care, etc is covered for 30 days!! ✨✨✨

❤️This is so amazing, and I’m over the moon that our posts were seen and help is slowly trickling in for these horses!! Especially because without us being here for them, they have NO WHERE else to go. No one to care for them the way we can. Thank you all for helping! We only need about 22 bags of feed at $12.50 each to be sponsored! I’ll be sure to post videos and pics of receipts later of the round bales and feed once I pick feed up and unload the semi of round bales. ✨❤️

The board hasnt moved since yesterday-

Getting to the point of panic now/ we have enough funds to buy feed or round bales- not both. We need $550 more to get a full load of round bales plus $400 for a pallet of feed.

I work full time trying to keep bills paid with my husband- but right now with how slow work is- funds cover our personal bills only- they can’t stretch to feed 11 horses- I’m going to have to make some tough decisions if we can’t find our community again to join forces and help feed these horses. If we can’t feed them, they can’t stay- and I’ve already got Scarlett giving me a run for my money being hard to keep weight on during the summer as a habitual cribber that no cribbing solution works for. I’ve reached out to other rescues to take them, I’ve posted them over and over, ive begged and pleaded for help on here ive done all I can do-

I’m exhausted from trying- from TRYING to be seen, trying to keep my promise to the horses we have here still- trying to make this work- it’s not working no matter what I do- money, help, even a “keep going!” Doesn’t come.

If anyone has any ideas- or even sees this and cares to share about the 11 horses here that I’ve ultimately got to decide what to do with, that I’ve got a lot of love and hard work into, and a broken heart over- let me know.

Because I can’t do this.

Theres too many eyes on the mega rescues, too many people hating rescues right now- I’m defeated.

I’ve got dusty, mighty, Johnny, June, trout, Spencer, badger, Reba, maybelle, and sorrely. I have sponsors for four of the blind horses- that leaves 7 more that don’t have a sponsor, so no “for sure” money that comes in for their care unless we get donations.

What do we do from here if we can’t keep feeding them because no help comes? If no rescue steps up to transfer a few? Or if no one adopts? What options does that leave?

If our fundraisers filled this quickly all the time, we wouldn’t be looking at closing our doors. I am very thankful for each and every single one of you that has helped today !

Only $550 more to raise toward the hay, and I’ll add the feed fundraiser next. Which is $400 for a full pallet of 40 bags.

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend!

We NEED to get a load of round bales brought in, as we havent been able to afford alfalfa and have switched back to rounds- and they’re $55 each. We would like to get a load of 20- this lasts a month and costs $1100 total. I know money is tight for everyone, but we’ve been locked in and out of our facebook account for months now and have only brought in $2000 over 60 days from our Facebook fundraisers.

We can’t keep going this way- or we won’t be able to feed the ones waiting for adoption and sanctuary horses, and we can’t afford it ourselves with work being so slow. I’m not sure how we’ve gotten to this point of no exposure, shadow ban, and left screaming into a void for help- for ANYONE to care- but I’m getting to a point where I’ll have to make some tough decisions.

Please donate to sponsor a round bale if you’re able- I understand if some of you can’t, and I understand if anyone has any ill will against me for various reasons for exploiting scams, being the squeaky wheel, not taking s**t from anyone, or standing for what’s right- but guess what? Even if you can’t stand me- there’s horses here that still need your support, and I’m asking for help for THEM, not me.

I’ve got a ton going on- and I’m still here keeping my promise to all these horses even though we’ve seemed to slip through the cracks and fall short money wise- so even if everyone else has forgotten about them, they know they’ve got us and the few supporters we have that have stood strong by our side throughout this whole s**tty situation. If you're thinking of getting into animal rescue, here's something you need to know: you need to build armor, not just for the hard work, but for the people.

You’ll need more than compassion. You’ll need resilience. You’ll need to remind yourself daily why you started, because the world will test you.

People will cheer you on when you post a happy rescue story. But when you say no, because your rescue is full, your funds are low, or your team is exhausted, those same voices will criticize you.

They’ll forget the 600 animals you saved and focus on the one you couldn’t take. Don’t let it change your heart.

Some people will praise your care, your process, your kindness, until they want to surrender a pet, and you ask questions or try to help them work through it. Suddenly, you’re the worst person for them.

That’s part of the job.

You’ll lose relationships. Some friends won’t understand why you fight for animal rights. Others will be cold to you when you’re being too dramatic for them after spending the night with a dying rescue. Let them go.

People will call you every hour, message you at 2am, expect you to be available around the clock. And when you finally pause to breathe, they’ll say you’re fake, you don’t care. It’ll sting, but keep breathing anyway.

Other rescuers will criticize how you operate, even if they’ve never set foot in your rescue. Some will help. Others will just talk. Focus on the work, not the noise.

You’ll see things you can’t unsee. You’ll witness cruelty. And sometimes, no matter how fast you get there or how much you spend, you’ll still lose the animal. Those are the nights you’ll sit and cry alone, and no one knows that.

But even in that pain, you’ll keep going.
Because despite all of it, the judgment, the burnout, the loss, the work matters.
Every life saved is a reason to continue.

Rescue is beautiful, heartbreaking, and unforgiving. But if you’re in it for the right reasons, you’ll find strength in the heartbreak and purpose in the pain. Just don’t lose yourself in the process.



Felt like this was much needed right now. For my friends, my partner and all my rescue friends struggling and for everyone who wonders why I don’t respond, why I dont answer your calls, why I forget things, why I miss or cancel appointments… it’s because of this.

Oh this is heartbreaking! Rest in peace Pam! 💔🥺😭

A wonderful, dedicated equine rescuer has gained her angel wings. Please help her family if you can . Pam was the founder of Blue Haven Rescue and Sanctuary. She save hundreds of donkeys and horses over the years. Thank you to everyone that supported her rescue.
