Rebel has made big strides in just 3 sessions! From not trusting his feet to almost sprinting in 2 weeks.
His first session had me worried he wouldn’t like it, it took me over 15 minutes to lure him up, then this week he almost started sprinting. But he’s been slowly building up his confidence.
If your dog doesn’t love the mill on their first session it doesn’t mean it isn’t for them. There’s just a learning curve 🤷

Meet Rebel. This little guy lives up to his name, he’s rebelling against his current living situation. He’s a sweet lovable guy but isn’t doing very well with the stress of shelter life. This is what I imagine he hears in his head 24/7. This was my first time meeting Legend, but definitely not his first time on a slat mill.
I often show off shelter dogs on here because of their need for enrichment, exercise, and homes. Yet a lot of dogs needs are not being met, even in homes with fenced in yards. That’s where we step in, offering hassle free enrichment right at your doorstep. There are many mental benefits to slat mills on top of the obvious physical advantages.
Learning:
No matter the breed, dogs want to work in some way, shape, or form. It’s really fun to watch the gears turn in their head the first time I turn the brakes off on the mill.
Confidence:
Confidence plays a big part in how dogs present themselves. Under-confident dogs often come off as scared, reactive, or fractious. The more they trust themselves the calmer they present themselves. Learning how to run on a mill is a big shift for a lot of dogs. We spend so much time training them to not pull on the leash, that pushing as hard as they can is something they aren’t used to, but is something they need to do.

Buddy Man is back and better than ever, and so is our website! Sorry for any inconveniences.
Buddy is already a pro, and ready to go as soon as he sees the van. He needs a good outlet for energy being a shelter pup. But a lot of dogs don’t have a good outlet for their energy. Whether you have a GSD in an apartment, or an Aussie with neighbors, we are here for you! We offer easy 30 minute sessions at your doorstep.
We also understand Indiana weather, so if a session is open you can book it 2 hours in advance if it looks like a storm is rolling in.

Went to our professional taste testers today to test out our new treat selection from . It’s hard to run a company based on fitness while actively giving out pupperoni or other chewy treats, so we made the switch.
Definitely don’t expect a calorie deficit from intro sessions, because for most dogs treats are necessary to get them moving. But we are trying our best to give your dog the best life possible, and that all starts with proper exercise and diet.

More realistic view of an intro session for an under-confident dog. He did eventually make it up after 17 minutes, but nobody has time for a reel that long, even at 10x speed.

Here at Mobile Mills we only use positive reinforcement, with dogs who are super comfortable with being picked up we may eventually get to that point but try to avoid it at all costs. That’s not the best way to start a positive relationship with the Mill.

The proof is in the pudding! Critters first run just shows what a little confidence building and structured exercise can do for your dog.

Meet Critter, another guy I have known for a long time.
He has never had a good outlet for his energy, and at only 3 years old he’s full of it. He’s been in and out of HSHC for about half of his life, and misplaces a lot of his tension, as most long term shelter residents do. He has been slowly deteriorating while there to the point where even a chain lead doesn’t stop him from leash biting. Yesterday he was just getting his footing but slowly started to run, but afterward he was a completely different dog. With him being in a similar situation to Buddy Man I’d like to make the same offer. A free 1 month pass(4runs, 1 per week) to help with his adjustment period.

Mills aren’t just for high drive and reactive dogs, they are for any dog.
From chihuahuas to brachycephalic dogs to Malinois.
While this guy didn’t get up and start sprinting his first time(and I wouldn’t have let him) he slowly got the hang of it, but that’s to be expected from an intro run.

We tailor your dog’s workouts directly to their needs. We will never let a brachycephalic dog run for 30 minutes, but a nice stroll in a temperature controlled environment while being constantly monitored is a good way to exercise them especially on rainy/freezing/hot days.

The real reason for starting this business.

Reactivity, the behavior that makes it hard to walk any dog despite their training.
I myself have a reactive; high energy, dog who can never be satisfied by walks, and when we do go on walks it always includes screaming at dogs. Reactivity is a hard thing to handle, especially when you don’t want to neglect your dog’s needs. I got Rango as a puppy and he had a lot of dog friends back then. But I eventually moved away and he had some incidents with other dogs that have made him extremely hard to introduce to other dogs.
Slat mills have greatly helped him channel his energy on something other than the fence or other dogs he sees.
Intro sessions are the lowest around(by far) at just $25 and normal sessions at $35.

Easy to say Pebbles was ready to roll.

Today we went back to the place where the idea for all of this started, the Humane Society For Hamilton County. This confident lady sprinted into the van and jumped on before even getting her harness on. Although it was my first time meeting her, it definitely wasn’t her first time on a slat mill.
Our sessions offer an outlet to channel your dog’s energy into a high paced workout with no effort on your part.
