The rain has sure slowed down the videoing and some horse work. We’ve gotten 3.12” according to our weather station thingy. It makes the clay here slick and our round pen is a lake! I’m so happy to see it though, it was already so dry.

I stole this photo from my friend eschlehr. She and her husband Nate own Starfire now. She has grown into the most beautiful mare… and is definitely a daddy’s girl. She was 2 when Ashleigh adopted and trained her for Mustang Mania, so is now 6 yrs old. Time sure flies.

Yesterday Sharon gave Spirit some love and then I trimmed his feet-he’s such a good boy. It was hot and very muggy after all our recent rain and thunderstorms! Glad to see the moisture though.

Had a recent google meet with Forever Branded, since I am a partnership trainer (similar to the old TIP program but better, ask for info if you aren’t familiar). A couple stats were shared that I wanted to pass along. This program has already saved the American Taxpayers over $80 million - in its first year! We have surpassed projected adoption numbers which were already pretty lofty. And the return rate has been less than 2%. Amazing!! I’m so proud of everyone involved.

Branded Partnerships: train a wild horse or b***o, adopt a wild horse or b***o, or advance your horsemanship with community experts!

A SHOW OF HANDS: If I were to hold a demo day/clinic June 27 how many of you would make it? I could add the 28th too if needed.

I would demo on some of my mustangs and b***os but would be willing to set times for people to bring theirs to work with as well if you wanted.

Introducing Briar! Today she had her second session and got her tag off, lots of scratches and brushing, and haltered for the first time. ***o ***otraining

Introducing “Bubbles”! Her first session and she’s been rubbed all over with the long handled brush, had scratches and ear rubs, tag off, and calmly haltered! What a GREAT little jenny! 😍🥰👏🏻 I suspect that even though she’s still a baby herself, she may be carrying a surprise. Time will tell. ***os ***os

Lenny is a 4 yr old pancake NV Mustang who was taped to finish at 16hh. Could finish shorter. He catches easiest with grain but will let you catch in pasture without it. He leads very nicely, stands tied, stands to be saddled and bridled. Has a total of 15 current rides most recent being Sunday. 1 ride on a public road being passed by cars and bikes. 2 rides on the trail with lots of encounters of people and 1 encounter with horses where he just walked right on by. My friend took his very new Mustang out Sunday and we did 9.6 miles with dogs and he was awesome. Every time the other horse pulled back he just kept going or would just stop completely unfazed. He has done one pack trip which was his first trail and did 17.5 miles. I do recommend hot wire at least on top of a fence if he doesn’t have consistent food he thinks he is starving and has to get the grass on the other side. He was rode next to horses without dividers in the trailer and with dividers in a trailer. He also gets his feet done every 8 weeks now and might get front shoes on in June if he is not sold by then. He is a huge ham and knows how to smile when you shake your finger and say cheese. He loves attention and is the biggest sweetheart. Nothing has seemed to faze him so far on the trail. He will go back on trail next weekend, unfortunately I can’t take him this weekend. He has ponied one horse so far.
