I’ve been working on this project, in one way or another, for years.

What originally started as A Dog’s Destiny — wanting to learn more about different dog breeds — turned into something much bigger.

I realized I cared less about the breed… and more about the jobs dogs were born to do.

So my friend Jackson and I went out to Montana and spent time with real cowboys.

And I knew absolutely nothing.

They taught me how to tack up a horse. How to safely move one in and out of a trailer. One horse named Cube made me look like a complete idiot.

We watched one cowboy nearly get seriously injured.

And through all of it, under the watchful eye of Buzz and Scooter — two of the hardest-working dogs at Bear Hug Cattle Company

I’ve spent my entire life around dogs, and this experience showed me a side of them I’d never truly understood.

Think Mike Rowe’s Dirty Jobs… but for dogs.

Getting to watch these dogs do exactly what they were born to do felt like sitting courtside at a Bulls game in the ’90s.
