History of the dog park

The park opened on June 29, 2013. The City wishes to thank the “Task Force” of six citizens who carefully studied all the details of the issue. The members are Anthony Bittner, Renee Burgan, Heather Holman, Stacey Webster, Nate Mackley, and Maria Mestre (Chairperson). The City appreciates the enthusiasm that all the members of the group brought to this issue.

This Christmas please remember a puppy is not a present. It's a 15-year or more commitment.

FYI the parking lot for the dog park and skate park are closed for the drive thru trick or treat that is happening tonight. The dog park is open but you have to park on Cannon Ave or the main parking lot at the fairgrounds to access the dog park.

If your dog shows any signs of aggression please do not bring them to the dog park. There was an incident earlier on the big side where a dog attacked an older dog and the owner had a shock collar on his dog and shocked it, the owner of the aggressive dog then refused to leave. Owning a dog is a privilege not a right and if you can't control your dog you shouldn't have one. Please follow the rules and respect other people who love their dog.
