Ozzy has some big goals… and Ruby is helping him get there 🐾

He’s already a therapy dog, but we’re working through some overexcitement and reactivity so he can show up calmly and reliably in every situation.

And with a 160lb dog, that really matters.

A big part of that is learning how to be neutral around other dogs instead of feeling like he needs to interact with them.

That’s where dogs like Ruby come in.

She helps show him what calm, neutral behavior actually looks like in real life.

This is how we build dogs that can handle the world, not just training sessions.

Also… take a guess at Ozzy’s breed 👇

A lot of people get doodles because they’re told they don’t shed and they’re friendly, easy family dogs.

And to be clear, some of them are.

But temperament doesn’t come from the label “doodle.”
It comes from how the dog is bred.

Most doodles are not being bred with temperament as the priority, which means you can end up with a really great dog… or a really challenging one.

It’s a gamble a lot of people don’t realize they’re taking.

This isn’t about hating doodles or blaming owners. It’s about understanding where dogs actually come from and why that matters.

If you already have a dog that isn’t quite what you expected, you’re not alone. That’s something I help with every day.

If your dog keeps breaking their stay and you feel like you’re doing everything right, check this.

A lot of people unintentionally add pressure on the leash when they start creating distance.

That pressure alone can be enough to pull the dog out of position.

So now it looks like the dog is choosing to break the stay… when really they’re just responding to what you’re doing.

When you’re building distance, focus on keeping a loose leash and using your reward to keep your dog in position.

Small details like this make a big difference.

If your dog understands stay but still struggles to hold it, this is usually where things fall apart.

It’s not always about teaching the command.
It’s about how you’re building it.

If your dog isn’t engaged with you, the environment will win.
If your reward isn’t right, they won’t care enough to stay.
And if your timing is off, you’re reinforcing the wrong thing.

This is where a lot of people get stuck.

Dial these in, and you’ll start to see a big difference.

If your dog won’t hold a stay, it’s usually not because they’re stubborn.

It’s because something in the process is unclear.

Most people either rush it, test it too much, or skip pieces that actually make the behavior stick.

A reliable stay isn’t about how long your dog can last.
It’s about whether they understand what’s expected.

If this is something you’re struggling with, start here.

A lot of dogs aren’t “high energy.”

They just haven’t been taught how to do nothing.

When dogs are constantly barking, pacing, getting into things, or demanding attention, most people assume they need more stimulation.

So they add chews, lick mats, toys… more things to do.

But when you do that all the time, you’re actually teaching your dog that they should always be doing something.

That’s the problem.

Dogs need three things to be truly fulfilled:
• mental work
• physical exercise
• and the ability to settle and rest

When those are balanced, a lot of the chaos starts to disappear.

If your dog struggles to just relax, this is where I would start.

Summer is either really fun with your dog… or really frustrating.

If your dog is pulling, reacting, or making outings stressful, you’re not going to enjoy walks, parks, or time outside the way you should.

A calm, neutral, well-behaved dog changes everything.

That doesn’t happen on its own. It’s something your dog has to be taught.

Right now I’m booking about 6 weeks out, which means if you want results in time to actually enjoy your summer, you need to get started now.

It means a lot when you trust me with your dog and then go out into the real world and represent that work so well.

If you want your dog to be the one people stop and ask about, I’d love to help you get there.
