I LOVE getting puppy updates (they’re all still puppies to me 🥰). And even better…visits!

Last Friday Leo (aqua boy, 2025 Valia x Skye) and his family came for a visit. They’re a wonderful hunting family with two sweet, kinda feral girls (that’s a compliment!) and he’s NOT spoiled at all. 🤣

That was the day aqua boy became AQUAMAN.

He started out by wading, which is what he’d always done. We had a couple of our dogs out swimming. Dogs learn best from other dogs, so he watched…went a little further into the lake…and then started swimming for the first time ever!

If you’ve seen the “puppy paddle”, you know it’s the cutest thing ever. It only happens once or twice and then it’s gone forever. We were so happy to have seen yet another dog learn to swim, learning from our dogs at our lake!

Pretty soon he was going on “swimabouts” just like his mom. He also retrieved a few bumpers.

The girls were out swimming and jumping off the raft. They helped him climb the ladder. Leo launched himself off the raft and officially earned his Aquaman name!

I was on my SUP and went out swimming at the raft with Tim, Valia and Junie. I pulled most of it up onto the raft.

Junie walked on it onto the end over the water. It gracefully slid off the raft into the water and she rode it like a pro.

I could not stop laughing. Junie didn’t care. So funny!

My pups usually hunt wild birds, but Linda thought this would be a fun event to see how Ula is coming along in her training. I think she’s doing really well! Congratulations Linda and Ula!

She just turned a year old and she has already earned her junior hunter title.

Her owner Linda says, “She was a rockstar! She has such fantastic drive and an amazing nose. She had no trouble finding birds.”
