Hi all! I received news today that my mother's beloved Shetland Sheepdog(8) has passed away from very sudden Kidney failure. Just the week before, another one of her shelties (7) began to have terrible seizures. They were completely healthy at their one year check up back in November. It was recommended by her vet to try them on the new Bravecto flea medication. It is currently being looked into that the Bravecto was the cause of death in her sheltie (and the seizures in her other sheltie). If any of your fur babies have had any adverse reactions to the medications please report. There is a page on Facebook called 'Does Bravecto Kill Dogs?' Where people are trying to get as much information and proof as possible. Even if this just means getting the company to provide the proper warnings on the product.
I am not posting this to scare anyone. Most dogs taking it will be fine.
Side note*
My pups use Heartgard for heartworm medicine and advantage for fleas. I prefer the ones that have been around for a while and have had plenty of testing. I only use the flea medicine in the spring and in summer or if going to be boarded (we don't really have fleas around our house, fortunately).
