We are committed to helping animals of all shapes and sizes meet their forever families. A small animal rescue in Guthrie, Oklahoma. While many different species of animals live in the sanctuary, some cats and dogs are only temporary residents in the rescue. Adoptable pets are listed on the website 😻

🍬 TRICK OR TREAT! 🎃 The X-men kittens got into the Halloween Spirit 👻 today for a bit of fun! Mystique was even brave enough to help hand out candy tonight with her foster fam! 😻

We've already had 2 dog adoptions today at Edmond Petsmart! 😍 We'll be here til 4pm, hoping some of our cute kittens find homes too! 🤞

A few months ago, we agreed to help a small squad of dogs left on a property. We were assured everyone was already altered, so we slowly made arrangements to fit them into our rescue. They arrived about 4 weeks ago. The dogs were thin, nervous, afraid of new volunteers... so we gave them time and space for the first week. 🥲 And on day 8 in rescue, one of them surprised us with 6 whole potatoes.

😐 Before anyone asks, no, spayed dogs are not able to have puppies. No, momma Helen did not have a round belly when she arrived. The other dogs she came in with are not black and white either- so whoever dad dog was, he is 2+ hours away, and very sneaky. Judging by how small the pups were at delivery, Dad was probably a smaller breed too! 😅

We typically are eager to spayabort pregnant animals, because there are enough animals already in this world needing homes. 🙃 Momma Helen had other plans. Puppies are cute, but they are a lot of work, and a lot of extra expenses and space that we did not plan for. 😬 We'll likely need some help from our Rescue Community.

In about a week, these monsters will be mobile. 😂 In 3 weeks, we can slowly start looking for foster and foster-to-adopt homes. And by 14 weeks old, they will hopefully be adoption ready. ✨️ Do you know 6 families looking to adopt a cattle dog mix puppy? 🤦‍♀️ Because we sure don't. Not yet, anyway!

Following up Black Cat Day is ! 😻 Check out the 3 adorable kittens who will be joining us at Edmond Petsmart this Saturday, looking for homes! 🏡

Lincoln (Gray Tabby Male), Harriett (Tabby & White Female), and Amelia (Tabby Female) Are all 4 months old, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped! 🥰 These three were raised in a foster home, and are very used to being cuddled all hours of the day. They are good with kids, and enjoy being around other cats. 💙

Lincoln is an absolute lap cat. He loves nothing more than to greet you with a purrrrr. He's not as playful as he is snuggly. Loves to observe, especially from the safety of a warm human lap. A pillow or a heating pad is a close second favorite.

Harriett is a little bit extra fluffy, and loves to cuddle. She's a very calm and observant kitten who looks at you with the sweetest pleading eyes when she wants something. 🥺

Amelia is the most spunky of the three- She loves to climb, Humans and cat trees alike! 😂She's a little more playful and can be firm in setting her boundaries! Very sweet girl who loves to be the center of attention. 👑

Since young cats are happiest with a playmate, the kittens in this litter can go home in pairs, or to a family that already has another feline at home for company. 😉

Azule is looking for a home! 🐶

This itty bitty pitty has the most beautiful blue eyes and an adorable grumpy face 😍 He is also a VERY lucky boy! Azule came to us from OKC Animal Welfare's euthlist, which he very narrowly escaped - 5 minutes AFTER the 9am deadline! 😬 He weighed only 25lbs when we brought him to the rescue, and thankfully some good groceries 🍽 have helped him fill out a little more. He is now 1.5 years old, 30-35lbs, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped! Best friend shaped, if you ask him!

Azule does very well on a leash, is house trained, is ok in a crate or kennel, and LOVES to wrassle with the big dogs! 💪 Because he tends to be a little too enthusiastic with his playing, we think only a larger dog housemate would be the right match, or for him to be an only dog. He is very friendly when it comes to meeting new dogs, and even in the shelter he was easily paired with a large shepherd mix pup in a super small kennel space, but tiny dogs are a no go long term. 😅 Azule definitely clobbers little dogs here at the rescue, and is too rough to share a forever home with anything smaller than him. He is really good with children 8+ years old, but unfortunately he is not with cats or any livestock like chickens.

If you're looking for a pocket sized pit with the most handsome face, and striking blue eyes, Azule is your lil guy! He would be perfect for apartment living, or someone with a big backyard for him to play in. 🏡

It's Day 😻 and you know at Sandy's we LOVE 🖤 our beautiful house panthers!

We have a handful of voids in the rescue, some of which are ready for homes. But we figure we should show you all the ones we have good photos of, at least to introduce you on their special day. 😉

A few of these black cats have been with us a whole year 🥺 And 2 are medical cases who would like to spend their treatment in a foster (or foster-to-adopt!) home 🏡. Mushu & Mei Mei are looking for a home! 😻

These two beautiful lynxpoints are 8 month old brother and sister, and the kittens of Momma Cherry Blossom! 💙 They are spayed & neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped- now they just need a home willing to make space for a pair of spunky siblings.

Mushu (tan nose) is super outgoing, and has never really met a stranger he didn't like. 😆 His foster mom reports that he's a big playful goober who loves to climb in bed with her at night. He's super silly and adventurous, which really helps his shy sister Mei Mei feel more comfortable in new spaces.

Mei Mei (silver nose) is pretty small, and a sassy, dainty princess 👑. She's quick to let you know you've come too close for her liking, but softens up fastest with offerings of treats and wiggly string toys. 🙄 It will take some patience for her to really fall in love with you, but the challenge will make there reward of Mei Mei cuddles all the sweeter. She does have a mild head tilt, which our vet has assured us is no real concern 🥺 it just makes her extra cute!

Another AWESOME adoption event at Edmond Petsmart today!! 🥳 🎉

Anna Banana & Ariel found amazing homes! Their new families had already had spoiled them before they even left the store! 😂 Anna is so ready to be their perfect princess, and Ariel is going to be her new catdad's very best friend 🥹

We also had Tex and Spider Mite go out on sleepovers 👀🤞 Good luck boys!

So many happy tails today! 😍 Love to see it!

Update: 🥳 Adopted! 🎉🎊

Anna Banana is looking for a home! 🐶

This sassy 3 year old chiweenie girl is spunky and snuggly, the perfect combo for someone wanting a little lapdog who doesn't mind dressing up! Anna is around 10-15lbs, and honestly a bit chubby 😂 But she has been rocking halloween costumes at our recent events all the same! She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and lookin' for love!

Anna loves to cuddle, but boy does she let the Amazon delivery driver know when she's seen him coming down the driveway. 🙄 This short stack has a voice, and she loves to use it. When everything is calm in the home, she matches that chill vibe, but intruders will not go unnoticed while Anna is on watch dog duty. 😅 Her bark may sound scary to other dogs, but she is actually dog friendly, just very opinionated. She gets along well with adult cats, and is great with children too!

Anna does well with p*e-pads, but we do want any adopter to understand that taking her out on a regular schedule will be very important if they want to see perfection in her house training. She's not a girl to be kept waiting, so washable p*e pads are a great investment if you work long hours.
