Maiden voyage (in english tack)!!! 🥹💜✨️

Our very own young lady, Zelda the morgan horse, had her second ride ever today!! The first one being a week ago. Both rides consisted of turning, leg yields, halting, and walking. Ride one was in our round pen, in western tack, with today's adventure being out in the big ring in my hunt saddle!

She was brave with all the new things to look at and not even remotely worried about the fallen leaves or the BABY RACCOON that walked into her field of view whilst I was on her. 🤣 Thank you Zelda for taking ALL of the notes in your confidence building lessons over the years so that that cute little friend was just that - a friend!! 💪🥳

Even though she will be four in two months, we are taking our time with this sweet girl. Every moment of the present with Zelda is a treat, but everything we do is to protect her soundness and maintain her healthy longevity for years and year to come. (She also needs to grow into my legs. 🤣 )

We couldn't be prouder of our favorite blonde baby horse. 🥹💜

We had a glorious day full of lessons featuring hard working riders rising to the occasion and pushing themselves to grow!! 💪🐴✨️

We were too busy enjoying the rides that the only photo I got was of Demeter's cute hairdo, her girl gave her. 😂❤️

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's - Betty!! 🐴🖤✨️

SHESGOTPEPINHERSTEP, 2019 Mare

What can't this mare do? She schools beautifully in both classic and western dressage, has fun reining buttons, titles to her name in the in hand division, trail rides like a rock star, and jumps like the hunter of your dreams!! 🤩 We couldn't be prouder of this talented mare!!

🌅 Thinking of gorgeous glowy sunsets at the barn, during these muddy flood days.☔️⛈️

The whole herd is doing well!! 🥳 Soggy, but with a steady flow of hay, yummy meals, and good company - they aren't even bothered by the weather.

One whole decade ago!! 🐴❤️✨️

This sweet mare is the "lady behind the logo" - Boxford Unbridled Passion GCH. Also known as, Marcus' momma! 😆 Ten whole years ago today, she and I were crowned national and world champions in the division during our very first Morgan Grand National appearance together. I would have been proud of Chia even if we didn't place at all. It is always so much more than the win. She was my best friend.

This mare required finesse, emboldened my tenacity and grit, and required a lethal level of calm and focus. For all she did for me then, there will never be enough words and I could not be more grateful for all that she was. Now - I hope she gets to enjoy watching her sweet boy live out his adventures, from her lush fields in horse heaven.

May we all appreciate every horse that has shaped us into who we are - and find our as I did with Chia. 💜
