Winter is coming!! We had a cold snap this week and reminded us that we need a few more things for the winter!

We’ve been slowly upgrading the barn. It is well over 100 years old and a good portion of the amenities were put in nearly 40 years ago. It’s a draft old thing, but we adore its charm.

Adventures in Ellie retrieval… got a bit north of Cullman and one of the tires blew. Unfortunately the spare was flat (our bad for not checking). We unhooked the trailer. I stayed behind with Ellie while Alexis and Byron went to get the tire aired up. All is well! Byron and little sis had the tire changed in no time. Might just’ve known what I was doing when I handed her a tire iron before her first set of keys! 🥰

Weather here tonight and tomorrow is predicted to be rather nasty with two rounds of severe storms, winds and increased chances of tornadoes.

All the Grassmere ponies got a pretty ribbon (it’s actually a ribbon shoe lace) with our numbers written on it in case any of our babies get loose in the storm.

Hoping it’s just a precaution, but better safe than sorry.
