Our old girl “Nya” had her vet visit today, and here’s the skinny on miss skinny… 🐾💜
As expected, she is heartworm positive and a bit anemic, but otherwise her bloodwork looked pretty good. Her lungs aren’t great, and X-rays revealed an old pellet from being shot. 😞💔 Despite everything, she is still the sweetest girl.
We’re still pulling fleas off of her, but now it’s only a few dozen instead of the 3,000. She got another round of flea meds today, so hopefully that finishes the job. Her ears were packed with dirt, her nails are finally clipped, and she doesn’t have many teeth left. 🥺 The tumor appears mostly fatty and doesn’t seem attached to anything. The vet thinks it can be removed once she gains some weight. She’s an underweight 53.5lbs today.
Nya met lots of new friends today and did wonderful with everyone. 🐶🐈💕 She has a foster pending once the fleas are fully gone, and if things go well with their two dogs, we’ll try that tomorrow. For now this tired old gal just wants a long nap. 😴 She was rewarded after the vet visit with Chick-fil-A nuggets. 🍗😂
She is such a precious pup and clearly grateful to finally be safe. 💜🐾
