HSSM's Veterinary Urgent Care is OPEN and ready to provide compassionate, affordable care for unexpected illnesses and injuries, because when every minute matters, we're here for you. Located at 2615 25th Ave. Gulfport, MS 39501.

Need more than urgent care? You can also come in for your pet's annual wellness exams and receive updated vaccinations during our convenient after-hours clinic, making it easier than ever to keep your pets healthy, even with a busy schedule.

• Wednesday–Friday: 5:00 PM – 12:00 Midnight
• Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

This service is perfect for pups who may need a calmer, more supportive grooming experience in a clinical setting.

✨ Grooming includes:

• 3–40 lbs: $55
• 41–80 lbs: $75
• 81+ lbs: $100

The "3-3-3 rule" for new pets is a guideline for understanding the adjustment period after adoption, particularly for dogs.

First 3 Days: Decompression:
During the first few days, a new pet may be overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of their surroundings. They might hide, sleep a lot, or be hesitant to eat or drink. It's crucial to provide a safe space, offer gentle introductions, and avoid overwhelming them with too much attention or activity.

Next 3 Weeks: Establishing Routine and Bonding:
After the initial adjustment, your pet will start to settle in and become more comfortable. They may begin to test boundaries and show more of their personality. This is a good time to introduce basic training, establish a routine, and focus on building a bond with your pet.

First 3 Months: Feeling at Home:
Over the next three months, your pet will continue to settle in and become more relaxed and confident in their new home. They will likely form a strong bond with their family and feel like they truly belong. Continued socialization and training are still important during this period.

It's going to be a HOT summer! ☀️ Keep your pet safe from heat stroke this summer by:

-Providing lots of clean, fresh water.
-Walk, exercise, and play when the temperatures are cooler (Before 10am, after 5pm), and make use of shaded trees for breaks. Don't let your pet overexert themselves.
-Don't walk on the asphalt during peak sun hours (10am-4pm). If it's too hot for your bare palm, it's too hot for their bare paws! Walk on the grass if you are outdoors.
-Avoid extreme heat and heat illnesses by bring your pet indoors during peak sun hours (10am-4pm).
-NEVER leave your pet in a parked car! Temperatures in cars will reach 20+ degrees higher than the outside temperature in less than 10 minutes!
