💕🐾Have you ever wondered what it takes to care for an orphaned neonatal kitten? Take a look at the tiny black fuzzball! While this little one looks incredibly peaceful curled up on that white towel, the reality behind the scenes is exhausting, round-the-clock work. Bottle babies require 24/7 attention. When they are separated from their mother this young, caregivers have to step in and provide absolutely everything a mama cat naturally would.🐾💕
•Round-the-Clock Feedings: These delicate little ones need to be bottle-fed with specialized kitten formula every 2 to 3 hours, day and night. Sleep becomes a luxury when you are setting alarms for 1 AM, 3 AM, and 5 AM.
•Temperature Regulation: Neonatal kittens cannot regulate their own body heat. They rely on constant, steady warmth from heating pads and snuggly blankets to survive and digest their food properly.
•Bathroom Assistance: Very young kittens cannot go to the bathroom on their own. They must be gently and manually stimulated before and after every single feeding.
•Constant Monitoring: At this age, kittens are incredibly fragile. A sudden drop in weight, slight lethargy, or a single skipped meal can quickly turn into a life-threatening emergency.
😻🐾We see this immense level of dedication and care firsthand at Second Chance Pet Rescue. The sleepless nights & the constant worry. But watching a fragile little bottle baby grow into a healthy, playful, and strong cat makes every single middle-of-the-night wake-up call completely worth it.😻🐾
