🚨 Stop scrolling if you have a dog! Fireworks season is coming.

🐾 Make sure your dog's microchip information is up to date.
🎆 Start desensitizing now by playing fireworks sounds at a low volume and pairing them with treats, play, or meals.
👩‍⚕️ If your dog struggles with loud noises, talk to your veterinarian before the holiday.

A little preparation now can make a huge difference on the 4th of July.

A growl is a warning, not a behavior problem.

When we punish growling, we may stop the sound, but we don't stop the discomfort behind it. Over time, some dogs learn that warnings don't work and start skipping straight to behaviors that do.

I'd much rather hear a growl than be surprised by a bite.

Listen to the growl. Don't punish the messenger. 💛🐾

Wondering what happens during a training evaluation? 👀

A lot of people worry they'll be judged, that their dog has to be "on their best behavior," or that it's just me talking at them. The reality is much more relaxed.

An evaluation is our chance to get to know each other, talk about your goals, figure out what's been challenging, and start creating a plan that works for both you and your dog.

POV: You started a dog training business because you love working with dogs... then realized you're also the social media manager, photographer, videographer, editor, marketer, scheduler, customer service rep, accountant, and CEO. 😂

But honestly? I wouldn't trade it for anything.

🌟🐾 VIPup of the Month: Meet RILEY! 🐾🌟

This month we're celebrating Riley, a 5-year-old dachshund mix who has been working on reactivity. 💛

When Riley first started, he was a foster pup who was constantly being turned down by potential adopters due to his reactivity towards EVERYTHING.

Since then, they've been absolutely crushing it with:
✨ Observing small triggers like geese and not barking.
✨ Less reactions towards people, even approaching some.
✨ Having a successful visit to the groomers.

One thing we love about Riley: How his hair blows in the wind. 🥹🐶

We’re so proud of the progress this dog/handler team has made and so grateful to be part of their journey. Give Riley some love in the comments! 👏✨
